Well recommend AMD Athlon 64.

I bought this my AMD Athlon 64 with an Asus K8V Deluxe back in June, I have so far had no problems with the processor. The installation is very straightforward and after that there is nothing you have to worry about.

I have my processor overclocked to 2.25 GHz on turbo mode. I wouldn't recommend doing this if you do not have ample cooling for the processor. The heatsink is not suitable to cool it at that frequency. I have to fans in the case for extra cooling.

Games work very well on the processor, if you have a good video card. I need an upgrade my Ati 9000, to a newer card to play the more detailed games like Far Cry, and the upcoming Doom 3.

With this processor you need a good 256 MB Ati or Nvidia to be able to play Doom 3 well with this processor and about 512 DIMM.

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ is one of the fastest processors I have ever used. My gaming experience is faster than the regular old Intel Processor 4. This processor is so amazing that I'm surprised it's so cheap!

I am using an AMD Athlon 64 3000+. This processer is definitely a great buy. It is very fast, the only problem with its speed is probibly that it is TOO fast! Not only is it priced lower than its competetor, but it is also has future compatability with 64-bit games and programs! When 64-bit games and programs start coming out, the speed will even more be noticable. Right now, just as the 3400+ comes out, the 3200+ has dropped in price. Either one is a great buy, and I'm sure you will be happy with the performance of this processer.

Another feature of this processer is AMD's "Cool n Quiet" setting. This underclocks the processer when not in use, allowing for temperatures as low as 34 degrees C. This drastically increases the processer's life and, with an ajustable fan, decreases noise from the computer.

This is currently the best processer you can purchase, but I would recommend to wait for a month or two until the 939 socket comes out for you gamers... which will support DDRII, PCI Express, and Dual Channel memory (non-registered).

The AMD Althlon 64 Processor will make games run faster, the quickness on desktops and loading will be bullet fast.
