Here's The Lowdown On The Logitech Cordless Deskto

Here's the lowdown on the Logitech Cordless Desktop MX - the mouse/keyboard is pretty easy to use, but it comes with a hefty price. If you don't mind spending $100 on this product (or $50 on eBay), then you should definitely get this one. I've used Microsoft's and Fellowes' keyboard/mouse combos and Logitech definitely surpasses them in the wireless duo category.

Note: The picture on this review is wrong. The keyboard is slightly different, but only in looks of the volume control and the mouse is not the same. The mouse that comes with this product is the MX500, which is a lot nicer and has more buttons on it. Check Logitech's site for the real picture of the Logitech MX Duo.

The Logitech Cordless Keyboard Is Satisfactory, Th

The Logitech Cordless keyboard is satisfactory, the reception distance is about 2 metres and works fine. The battery life is very good for the keyboard - i have had the keyboard for over 6 months and have not changed it but the mouse battery will last about 4 months.

The software that comes with it is bugged! The program that allows you to use the 3 hot keys causes more problems than it's worth. It de-stabalises the OS ( i'm using W98 2nd edition), causing it to freeze and the most annoying is the 'secure mode wizard'which encrypts the data from the keyboard to the computer, which does not work and keeps popping up at random!!! I downloaded an updated version from logitechs website but the same thing keeps happening (you can't switch the damn thing off, or even specify not to install it from the cd). I even emailed their tech.support but they didn't even bother to reply. Without this program you can't use the hotkeys (unless you can find some third party software that can activate them).

The keyboard creaks alot when you pick it up, but when typing, it's silent.

Overall the keyboard and mouse are good but you'll have trouble using the hotkeys and i think that the package is overpriced by £10 (i bought it for £60).

Hope this helps

I've had this for over a year and never changed the batteries, since they're rechargable on the cradle that it comes with.

Some things just never change! (since 1995 or so anyway(:-)

Buggy Logitech software, creaky keyboards, and mice that eat batteries.. A double-click that is like a machine gun and causes all sorts of problems. Amazing that they're still in business!

you normally get this little IR unit that sits under ur monitor or somewhere, this is connected using USB or PS2 to ur comp, the actual mouse and keyboard are then wireless
