Kodak Easyshare Printer Dock Series 3

I purchased Kodak EasyShare Printer Dock series 3 four months ago, it functioned excellently during first days of usage, it printed clear pictures and letters, however there was something negative about the adapter it used to heat too much and if that wasn't enough after one and a half months, I started experiencing problems with the cartridges, they produced excess amount of ink,it hasn't helped me in any good way as it didn't last as expected.

Still Under Warranty, But Two Print Heads Later.....

I purchased the ESP C310 in April 2012 from Tesco, and for a while it worked well, actually better than my two previous Epson printers. It was simple to use, with the ease and speed of changing ink cartridges being a very positive feature. The scanner was not as good as those from the Epson though - less easy to use. Colour was fine.

However, after five months I started to experience problems with the black ink cartridge running out - in fact it wasn't running out, the print head was just not working. Not being a nerd, I wasn't sure what was wrong and after wasting a huge amount of both colour inks and black ink from a new black cartridge that I had installed, I went through the Kodak diagnostics for this printer, where it indicated the symptoms experienced were due to a faulty print head.

I contacted the Tesco Electrical help line, who I must say were first class in their approach - they were professional and experienced, diagnosing the same fault, a faulty print head, from what I had told them. They then passed me to Kodak, as their protocol required, where I had a negative and unprofessional experience. The female that I dealt with had very poor English, kept me on the phone for 20 minutes, and indicated that I would have to go through several other diagnostic procedures before they would send me a new print head. This cost me time, more ink and a high level of frustration. Eventually the new head came after about a week and was fine, though I estimate that the whole exercise cost me around £30 in wasted ink - this printer uses huge amounts during the warm-up period, when print head cleaning and doing standardisation/check runs.

Now, within another 2-3 months it has gone wrong again, with the black ink being the problem again - more wasted ink!! It started soon after I had installed the new print head, when black and white photos developed lots of parallel lines over them. Eventually the text began to fade and disappeared entirely. I have again contacted Tesco, and normally they have to abide by the manufacturer's rules, which state that they will replace parts like the print head on two occasions before they will change the whole machine or give you your money back. Tesco were again very professional and tried to put me through to Kodak, but even the Tesco man was kept waiting in a queue, so he took the unprecedented step of bypassing the system and allowing me to have my money back. He indicated that they got frustrated with Kodak also and that they had experienced a high number of issues to do with print heads!

So within a day I have a new HP Laser jet printer installed, producing some stunning colour documents!

This Printer Has Good Quality Prints, No Doubt Abo

This printer has good quality prints, no doubt about that. I used it a few times before and had good picture prints. I have to agree on the complain about this digital printer that you need to constantly plug it into a power outlet else, it will not last that long.

It's a total nuisance and quite annoying especially when doing fast printing. You could find other printers better than this one.

The Kodak Easyshare Printer Dock Is A Simple To Us

The Kodak Easyshare printer dock is a simple to use photo printer that eliminates the need for ordering professional prints. I have used this for quite some time now together with a D-SLR. The prints really do look great and the printer works great with non-Kodak image editing software as well.

It should be noted that it advances the toner every time the power supply cable is connected, thus reducing the number of prints from the toner. According to Kodak it needs to be constantly plugged in in order to avoid this, which might be a nuisance, especially since it is somewhat dust sensitive.

I Had Three Of The Kodak Easyshare Printer Dock Se

I had THREE of the Kodak Easyshare Printer Dock Series 3 printers within ONE month! All of them had faults and had to be exchanged - by Comet, Kirkcaldy. The first chewed up the paper, the second chewed up the paper and then locked itself onto 'paper jam' and wouldn't release out of this state, and the third, which I had overnight (!) chewed up paper and the printhead was totally out of alignment - even when checked by the store - resulting in part printing and shadowed printing of each sheet of paper. My uncle bought the same printer from Comet in Braehead, Glasgow and he too had three exchanges before getting a refund, so it must be the printer with the fault, not the user! Kodak cut corners on price by getting the consumer to load the printhead into the printers, rather than preloading them like other manufacturers. This leaves no end to the scope for disasters! The other thing that allows them to state that each print will save you money is that the printer is set onto 'draft' quality printing from the moment it is switched on...and it doesn't get any better the higher up the quality scale you set it to...unless, of course, you are doing a photo onto photo paper...in which case it excels!

For a photo printer - this is great

If you want a printer that prints everyday stuff - avoid it like the plague!!!

It is rubbish. You get what you pay for - and this is even worse than you expect for the money! I wouldn't touch Kodak printers again with a twenty mile long bargepole! My uncle feels the same!

This printer is also the noisiest printer I have ever heard. It sounds like an aircraft taking off when it calibrates, and every time you switch it on to print anything it sounds like it's taking music lessons with a brass band!

Thrice bitten - totally fed up!

End note to this - I now own a HP Photosmart C5280 and it is like chalk and cheese - it is EXCELLENT!...and it is Soooooooooo QUIET!!!...and I no longer have to personally 'stand guard' over the printer to hand feed the paper to make sure it only takes the allotted number of pages at one time and doesn't screw everything up, paper jams or otherwise! I actually managed to go and answer the phone while it was printing stuff tonight - a luxury I had forgotten with the Kodak EPS 3!

Was Bought A Kodak Easyshare Printer Dock Series 3

Was bought a Kodak Easyshare Printer Dock Series 3 as a xmas pressie and have to say the camera and the dock give very good results. Aometimes i feel these 'big' companies try to make too many models in too quick a time and this is where the problems arise.a 40 pack cartridge/paper varies from £10 upwards, worth shopping around.
