I Thought It Was Me!!

I thought all my problems with this printer were because of me. After reading all the negative reviews, I feel better about myself. I will research printers and buy anything but HP!!

Junk - The Printer And The Manufacturer

I have owned this printer since June 2020. In that time I have attempted to print many, many, many, many times after I had just printed another document. This printer disconnects from Wi-Fi, it shuts off, every single day it needs new drivers that it already has. And HP, their level of customer service on this piece of junk that they sold me, it's enough to make me never own an HP product again. In fact, this printer is used in my office at our business. We are about to start replacing desktops and laptops. We currently have $434 HP desktops and $263 laptops and a printer just like this piece of junk to go with every single one of those. We will not be replacing them with Dell or HP products. I will burn this business to the ground before I ever use another HP product.

Rubbish Printer - Rubbish Service

I wouldn't recommend these printers to my worst enemy. It has constant issues either with the connection to the Wifi or in terms of accurately estimating the ink levels. Currently mine shows a full colour cartridge and a 25% full black one but only prints a faint yellow and no other colours.

The Direct Ink service is an absolute travesty. The concept is that you pay a fixed amount per month for a pre-agreed number of pages. E.g. you pay £4.99/month for a 100 pages printed. Whether you print them or not. If you don't print you can carry over the pages up to 3 times the agreed number. But not more. Even if you don't print for a year you still have to pay monthly and you carry over only 300 pages. And if you switch you page numbers down e.g. you decide 100 is too much for you and want to switch to 50 pages let's say, you loose even those 300 carried over pages even if you paid a year's monthly value for them. As it happens I had a 300 page level for about a year and 1/2 accumulating the 900 pages. I decided that it doesn't make sense to keep paying so I switched to a lower level but that meant that all those months of payment were completely lost.

So my advice, don't buy the printer and even if you do don't buy into direct ink as it is not worth it.

Tomorrow's Garbage Today

My "HP Deskjet Paper-Jammer 2600" didn't get very much use. In fact, it sat idle for quite a few months. Then when there was a reason to print color, it wouldn't.

Even the black ink was poor and ragged looking, so I followed the instructions to clean and align the print heads. The black improved but still no color.

The last suggestion from HP's troubleshooting list of dos and don't was to try a new cartridge, so I did. Everybody here knows how expensive these ink cartridges are, still no color. HP's trouble shooting guide's next suggestion was to take it in for repairs.

RIGHT!

Unlike the Canon that served for a long time, could print borderless pictures, could print to any reasonable size of paper, had both a single page feed and a tray this lemon was an attention seeking finicky nightmare - and that was when it worked.

Worst Experience Using This Garbage

Much like many of the other reviews, this printer does not and will not print when it's needed to. Connection issues come up repetitively, giving no explanation. Attempts to 'Diagnose and Fix' through their insipid desktop app are NOT any help at all, often saying "nO pRoBlEmS fOuNd" and FORGET using the customer service line. IF you make it through to a real person, it will just repeat the same problem the next time you try to print. Nothing gave me greater joy than smashing it against my driveway after buying a better printer. Take your money somewhere else.

Absolute Garbage

Avoid this line of printers. Mine hemorrhages ink like some bad B list vampire movie. If you have kids and you need to print homework you will constantly be running out for new ink. And don't even think of signing up for the HP ink refill if you are planning on saving money to send those kids to college. They even have an option to drain your account buy charging you for each page you print. Mine has lost all network functionality, not that it worked well in the first place, but know my kids have to email anything they want printed to the desktop that is hardline connected to this failing excuse for a printer. I feel like Guttenburg taking requests to print out homework before the inevitable late night monthly run to the store to buy ink.

Awful. Fails To Print.

This printer is awful and never prints on first attempt. It often takes several attempts if it does print.

When it fails to print there is never an indication as to why it won't print. It is a long winded process of elimination, which ranges from not working with my device VPNs to paper issues to ink cartridge issues etc.

It's gotten to the point I have to connect the printer to my device's via a cable which defeats the object of a wireless printer.

I wouldn't waste my money again and recommend spending a little extra for a reliable machine.

Confusing, Unhelpful , Useless

The meagre interface is not understandable or comprehensive, and the printer is overly complicated to connect wirelessly. No explanations are offered for why it does not work when it fails to connect. Arcane and unintuitive controls. An extremely poor product. I will be taking my money to an actually competent printing service.

Outstanding Performance Printer

HP DeskJet 2600 All-in-One printer is a fantastic entry-level option. It allows you to print and scan without having to use a connection to connect your printer to your computer. In addition, given the price, the printing speed is adequate. However, without having a touch screen can be difficult.

This Printer Also Does Not Start Automatically

This printer loaded some obstructive programs on my computer which hog 99% of the CPU and bring the household wi-fi network to its knees. Had to take the programs off of the start-up menu which finally seems to have solved the problem. No idea what those programs were for. This printer also does not start automatically when you click the print button, an annoyance. It is incredibly noisy.
