Brother HL-2030

I've had this printer for two, maybe three years now. I bought my Brother HL 2030 after being fed up with two Epsons, which used up ink so rapidly I spent more on ink in a year than I had on the printer.

I rarely print in color - mostly documents or sheet music, so it is perfect for me. I have never had any problem with paper jamming or feeding through incorrectly, and I recycle, so I'll print on the opposite side of paper that's already been printed on.

I would get another one and totally recommend it to friends.

Overall the Brother HL-2030 is a good reliable printer. A pity that the cost of a new drum generally exceeds the price of a new printer and means that I have to change my printer after about three years. The HL 2030 is not as well built as the HL 1430 which I had for 3 years and lacks any indication of how much paper is still in the paper tray.

The Brother HL 20-30 isn't worth £65.00. It's worth paying a little extra and getting a printer that works consistantly and not periodically.

The paper regularly jams in the drawer and prints an error page first, then the full page, which wastes a lot of paper.

We have had months of the printer just printing blank pages, even though it has a new toner.

We will be purchasing a new printer.
