HP Color LaserJet 3600

My HP Laserjet 3600dn does what it was sold to me by Misco to do very well. I have had mine since June 06 .

I am a 'home office' and run a small social dance business. It prints all my letters, posters, programme cards and some photographs. I use media from 80gsm paper to 160gsm card. The software makes it easy to set the type of paper required for each use. For those who have had trouble maybe a read and do what the instruction book says would save a lot of time and grief. Before printing, set the paper weight and tray being used. If you print 160gsm card, then set it to 160 GSM before loading and you won't have any trouble. All card should be fed from tray 1, never 2. It is not designed to duplex card so don't ask it to. It is not designed to print heavier than 220 GSM card so, again don't ask it to! This is a well made, highly complex piece of machinery, designed to a certain specification and price by one of the largest printer manufacturers in the world. Such a company is not likely to market a new model until they know it will do the job it was designed to do. HP have a first class reputation and this tool will do an amazing job - if you let it! - Tips for troubl efree use: Read, understand, set and operate the printer only according to the instructions. Don't guess. If you don't understand something, then phone and ask an HP engineer, not someone who doesn't know what he is talking about.. Use genuine HP original ink cartridges. They cost more money, but they are the fuel this machine is designed to run on. Your car will not serve you if you put the wrong fuel in the tank.! Good ink, good paper, set properly = good prints and happy users. Best of luck guys.

Treated with care and used according to the manufacturers instructions this is an excellent printer.

After about a year the color on this HP LaserJet 3600 printer was off alignment, replaced all toners, did every diagnostic test, nothing worked. . Called HP waited on hold for about 30mins, after talking for 20 mins describing the problem they wanted money for tech help as this product was a month out of warranty.

Nice Colour, but I would not purchase this printer for office use. We bought this printer make publications and postcards and the printer does not pull through cardstock or even precut post cards. Therefore I do not recommend HP LaserJet 3600.

HP re-engineered this model so that the toner carts are easier to replace but the new design is flawed as far as I am concerned.

Do not recommend HP LaserJet 3600, avoid at all cost this model and any HP model with the same kind of "vertically stacked" toner design.

It jams constantly, it does not like card stock or heavier paper. You're supposed to print card stock from tray 1, but it will pull it in, then jam. If you try to print card stock from tray 2, it will say there's a jam when none exists. Unless tray 2 is completely full, it will tell you that the tray is empty and will not print. The print quality is fairly light and, therefore, difficult to read sometimes. Each time after it prints, it has to calibrate for about a minute. This means further delays when you're trying to print multiple documents. Customer support is awful. I've had HPs in the past, but if this is the kind of printer they are turning out these days --- no thank you. I'll go to a different brand.
