Xerox Phaser 8560N

I run my own office and have an 8560 DT (Duplex and extra higher capacity tray). It is set up on a wired and wireless network and plugged through a wired/less router. I paid about £850 for it from PCworld. I could've got it cheaper, but I wanted to be able to fall back on PCworld's technical advie if needed - it wasn't.

This printer is dead easy to set up. The software just works (I have a mixture of XP, Vista and W7 laptops). The print speed is just great. The automatic duplex is phenomenal, the messaging you receive on screen is great, but not obtrusive.

Print quality is, for our purposes, exceptional. I say for our purpose as we are not heavy photo users. Graphics are great. If you want very high quality photo printers - go for an inkjet specifically for the job. I love the solid ink 'crayons' - far less mess than toner and also much less to go wrong in the machine.

Printing lag is very low from pressing the button to output - unlike lasers. This is due to the 'warm-up' period being when hte machine turns on in the morning - just before the office opens.

Overall we all love the look and feel of the slightly raised output and can thoruoghly recommend this to anyone that wants a printer that just works and is not perhaps technically minded, or is worried that it will be difficult to set up.

The only 'con' I can think of is that it is louder than a laser, particualry on duplex when is sounds almost violent - but this is mainly becasue it is directly behind me.

Superb print quality, good photo printing

Nothing really, other than slightly more expensive toner than some printers, but the quality makes up for it...This is an excellent quality printer.It prints colour and black and white very well.It is quick at printing also. Well recommend Xerox Phaser 8560N.
