Pinnacle Studio8 MP20 Plus

Guess what! I now bought the upgrade version to Liquid Edition (from ...... Pinnacle). This software is really super. Although not intuitive (it's very much different from Windows), once you learn how to work with it, the possibilties are endless. However: Making a DVD is still a job that works slow, is very time consuming and sometimes you get the same result as Studio 8.

So, good advice to Pinnacle: Improve your import and export engine, and you have the finest product you can imagine.

Note: This is NOT a product for first time users. File-management is very complex and all the editing-features require quite some knowledge of what video-editing really is. The training videos on the internet are very helpful.

I got this software with a Pinnacle capture device. The editing process is generally very easy and intuitive, but as this review points out, it can all go horribly wrong when you try to render the final film. I had no trouble when using material from a DV camera, but mpeg sourced material gave serious audio sync problems. Pinnacle's doesn't appear to offer any real support, and their "fixes" don't tend to help either. It's a shame, but this software sucks.
