Map My Run www.mapmyrun.com

Used MapMYRun for about three months. In my quest to lose weight.. the app would incorrectly record my milage.. turns out I was doing more than the App recorded.. It often stopped recording my times, making it very frustrating to keep track of my performance.

I ran across mapmyrun.com years ago as a novice runner, and it was great for setting up routes for travel (ie, when I'd be staying at a random location and wanted to run there). Easy to use, intuitive, very friendly. Now it is absolutely unusable, and it's not even all of the incessant commercials. It

is an interface that is COMPLETELY impenetrable, with absolutely nothing behaving like I expect it to. Guess I have to go looking for a new site for my travels. Shame.

Wanted to use the ap. it wouldn't startup because it said it was "updating the ap". Why did it wait to update until I wanted to use. It was fine the last time I used it. Why make me wait when I want to use it. What kind if moronic programming is that ? Trying another ap that provides same info.

I have used the Mapmyfitness line of apps for 2 years. It has always worked great. I have tried other apps and have always returned to the Mapmyfitness line. I recently got the heart rate strap with one year MVP and have had no problems.

The app is riddled with pop up ads that are hard to get rid of. Constantly wanting you to upgrade to MVP. Every time I pulled my iphone out of my pocket to look at my distance I had a new ad. Don't recommend!

I went for the MVP offer with a heart rate monitor for $49. Almost a month later, no HRM, no real difference in the functionality, but i did get a new $37 international shipping and handling fee for the HRM that never got here. I was charged, but the site shows no order placed. Avoid this company. The app is good but not worth the headache and cost. They deserve the BBB F rating they have.

The map creating process is completely ridiculous! It's like it has a mind of it's own. The first time I used it took me 30minutes to make a map, but I thought I just needed more practice using it. Making my second run route was impossible because it kept making its own route, not were I was directing it. My husband offered to take over, as he uses computers on a daily basis for his work, and I thrilled to let him try it. Within a few minutes he too had become completely frusterated with mapping my route. This site sucks! I was super excited to use this site and now wish I never wasted my time with it.

I am training for the 42,3KM. I used Map My Run Several years, no complaints. The last 2 months i am training way harder, longer distances!

The problem is that i thougt i ran more than i have really done. Since two weeks i use Garmin and now i can see a major difference. A course wich i believed was 24 kilometers, is 20 km exactly. i feel cheated by Map My Run.

The MapMyRun site provided some pretty nice displays. However, they have cut back to barebones, nothing on display. They are trying to leverage you into a monthly fee to see your heart rate plot, etc., etc. I DON'T THINK SO ! GOOD THING I STILL KEPT UPLOADING TO THE GARMIN CONNECT SITE. REALLY CHICKEN EXCREMENT.

Do not pay! At first app was great, GPS very accurate. I was impressed so thought I would skip ads and upgrade. All was. Well for approx 6 months, then accuracy went badly wrong. I did everything that MMR suggested and when that didnt work I posted a message. I received a reply asking me to post a link to two runs used with MMR and rival app. I do not have same route recorded for each and given that I had tried everything I asked for a refund. Since I have sent my response I have received nothing back! I have sent 2 further emails and they have failed to respond! Very disappointing. So in light of very poor customer service I will re- post this message every week to warn users NOT to purchase map my run. Stick too runtastic or runkeeper.
