Avoid At All Costs

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.  Don't trust them with anything. I sent my PS4 in for what I had assumed was a simple HDMI repair, but they informed me there was also a faulty controller chip on the motherboard, obviously them being the "professionals" I let them go ahead with the work thinking I could trust them. It was over a month before I received back my device, not close to their websites stated 48hours. This was where further issues began. Upon receiving the device, it appeared to have been damaged in transport, with a corner of the PlayStation having broken out of the box due to being poorly packaged. I then received an email after it had been delivered saying that if a package appears damaged from transit do not accept delivery, but by this point it was too late. I then tested the PlayStation and it would not boot up, remaining stuck on the blue flashing light taking multiple boot-ups before finally turning solid white and booting up fully. At least the HDMI worked I thought! Obviously though, something was wrong, so I emailed Elite Phones and Computers to see what had happened. To which I had the response "all our items our well padded and we have never had an issues before" which seemed unfair and generic so I further explain the problems. Bearing in mind they will not reply to messages quickly this process took an age - whatever you do don't try and call them unless you want even worse customer service. Eventually I got a reply saying "we have completed the repair on your device and also tested prior to dispatch. It is highly unlikely that this device is not working but in case we would like to assure you that the repair comes with a 12 months warranty and we are happy to collect again to check/ repair". Here they claimed they had tested it before dispatch, proving the new issue must have occurred in transit. I sent it back packaged in more bubble wrap than I've ever used (just to prove a point) and then proceeded to wait even longer. After much chasing to see what is going on, I get this reply "there was issue with a GPU. We had to reflow it. As this a different type of issue please pay £30 service fee (after a big discount)". I was absolutely disgusted. I tried to argue but they weren't having it. In their eyes the device breaking between them testing it and me testing it was unrelated to the evident damage in transport. So, I caved and paid them the money. As I had read in their T&C's that non-payments result is devices being destroyed and sold for parts. The whole process lasted from their initial quote of £59.99 on 1/4/19 (guess I was the April fool) through to 13/7/19 with a final bill of £129.99. That's a 10-week repair time and a price that's more than double what I expected. I dread to think what will happen if their repairs fail and I need them rectified, but I would rather take it to a proper shop than ever trust these people. Do yourself a favour and use a different company.

Avoid Like The Plague

My contract phone stopped charging, my service provider said that was wear and tear they could repair but at an exorbitant fee, but I could go somewhere cheaper of I wanted. So I did despite being past 12pm cut off time they got the courier back late the same day they said I would get it back in 48 hours which I thought was wonderful. Then all contact became online. I chased twice second time it took just short of 48 hours to come back to me. I was of the understanding that they would look at the phone and advise what the issue was, but no they finally contact me and say it was the charging port (which has been repaired) but that there is another issue. I then had visions of a huge bill and decided to tell them to stop.

Their terms and conditions say if they cannot repair £29.99 plus VAT fee, but they want £49.99 despite telling me that the phone is now non repairable. The repair that was done was not authorised as they did not tell me what was wrong. More fool me first time I have ever been treated like this. Should have researched better as they quite clearly find "another" fault as a matter of course. Ah well off to buy a new phone, they will get no money from me.

Worst Worst Worst

I have given my cracked screen mobile for repair. It took almost 3 weeks for the repair after repeatedly calling them. The repaired screen didn't last even few minutes. All the broken screen pieces were still in the phone. The fitting was not done properly. And then the team says the warranty is not valid on the replaced screen.  They quote the price without VAT and increase the price with more repairs after receiving the mobile.

Never Ever Again!

0 stars! They don’t care about your property - all they care about is making money! They kept hold of my MacBook for over double the time period agreed and would’ve kept it for a lot longer had I not driven to the shop to get it (although I paid for courier service!) they had done nothing to my MacBook which was in for a battery replacement - charged me £100 to cancel the “order” (although Apple have recently informed me that no 3rd party company can buy their parts) and I was dealt with rudely, told they were ‘doing me a favour’ by giving the MacBook back to me in the shop, and made me wait over an hour, stood there for them to ‘put my laptop back together’ it came back with a chipped corner and it was unusable as the keyboard and mouse didn’t work even though they claimed to have done nothing but ‘diagnose’ my laptops problem! Turns out after taking it to Apple that they had squashed cables and unplugged them inside! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! They just want your money, I’ve heard many horror stories about them and lots of people have been worse off - 6 months with holding their property!!

Avoid these people like the plague. They appear very genuine and efficient at first......until they get your phone. They promised me a 48hr turnaround using genuine Samsung parts to repair my broken camera lens. You have to pay for the postage in advance and UPS collect it. What you aren't told when they quote your repair cost is that VAT isn't included. You don't find out this until it is too late!

Once they have your phone they then find additional faults that you feel obliged to pay for.

Having paid out nearly £100 to get a lens repaired,my phone was returned with a plastic lens cover instead of a glass one and the auto focus camera had been replaced with a fixed focus.

I ended up going to a genuine Samsung center who confirmed they had used non genuine parts and I have then ended up paying considerably more to get the damage put right.

DO NOT USE these people, once they have your money they close down your email access to your repair thread and don't answer their phones.

Good, Quick Ipad Screen Fixing

It was a quick fixing of my iPad Air which was damaged due to fall from my pocket. Good quality part was used and was reasonably charged. Full stars for the repair job and the customers service. The finish was nice and it was not at looking like a repaired one after all fixing job was over.

Obviously a fake review as I had the misfortune to once work for them in an admin role. All staff paid in cash with no wage slip given( illegal in itself ). I know full well how they still operate under yet another name. HMRC should look at their working practices as well as trading standards. I would recommend a group of people pay the shop a personal visit

Made up a new fault and held phone to ransom. Arrived back damaged. Walked into the shop and was told to - well I'm not allowed to say but you know, two words! Eventually they agreed to replace the damaged cover which lasted 2 days before cracking (was a fake) and then the repair failed within 2 we*eks. They effectively ruined my lovely S6 edge. One star is too generous but its the minimum.

Never Ever Use This Company - Will Hold Your Goods To Ransom

EXTREMELY MISLEADING! initially quoted 67.50 for a laptop power jack repair. charged 17.50 deposit which I was not advised on the phone that this would NOT come off the initial quote. then I receive an email to advise that while the initial problem has been fixed, they short circuited my laptop and required an additional £35. I say yes I'll pay £85 do it, they then charge me £102.50 because my quote didn't include VAT. They basically will not return your item until you make payment they hold your item at ransom. for the sake of a £2 (supposed) saving I regret not going to the store local to where I stay. YOU USE THESE PEOPLE YOU REGRET IT

Awful Service, Month-long Delay, Attempts To Charge More

I have just resolved a month-long battle to get my (partially) repaired phone returned.

• I accepted Elite’s quote for repair on 03/11 and on 04/11 delivered it to the local UPS agent personally as I did not want to be without my phone for too long

• Elite took delivery on Monday 07/11 & confirmed “cracked screen - still works fine” so I expected to hear back in a couple of days

• I didn’t get an update from Elite until I prompted in a friendly manner and on Monday 14/11 was told it was in the last stage of the repair.

• On 15/11 Elite reported that the front glass was replaced but that due to the way the screen was cracked, it had effects to the display and I was sent two images via email with 2 options:

a) accept the condition it is in and proceed to make the payment

b) Additional work for complete LCD at £169.99

• I promptly agreed to take the phone with just the screen fixed as I’d tolerated using the phone with a cracked screen for a few weeks anyway and asked how to settle up

• I had no reply to my repeated attempts over the next week and a half to pay and get my phone back: many messages on their notice board, followed by emails and phone calls

• I’ve was assured on the phone 3 times that I would have payment details sent over that day but still had nothing at 24/11 on writing my first formal complaint to the MD

• On one phone call I was told the phone could ONLY be repaired at the £169.99 cost until I questioned this & the agent again assured me that I would be sent payment details

• I spoke to the agent on the only phone access line ('accounts') the same morning they were confident that the payment details would be sent by 1pm so I could have my phone back the next day: when I had to phone back again having not received the details the update was that the phone had not come through testing

• On my next follow up the following day, Elite stated that “your device will be closed off tonight if not tomorrow morning” and after spoke again that morning I was promised completion details early that afternoon by email but I received nothing and the phone line went straight to a voicemail box which doesn't accept voicemails.

• The subsequent update was that as my item went to dispatch an issue was noticed: the screen was not properly attached after all that time and it had to be passed it back to the engineer who I am told then needed to replace some wiring which had been damaged (presumably during repair as the phone had been confirmed as functioning on receipt)

• I spoke with Elite again on Monday 28/11 & was asked to wait a further 3 days for the issue to be fixed and the phone to come back out: by Thursday 01/12 I had again not heard back and again there was no answer to the phone + the voicemail box was full. I kept calling till I eventually got through and was told that the phone was again in testing: device would be finished for Friday 02/12 and with me Monday 05/12

• On Monday 05/12 I received a further message on the notice board from the repairs team referring to their previous message that the screen was replaced but there was an issue with the display, and did I want to pay for the complete LCD for £169.99 - despite all the above communications and complications

• I phoned Elite again promptly and the same agent I had been speaking to throughout once again started to talk about sending photos to see the extent of the issue which I declined referring to our past conversations: I have just finally been able to pay to get my phone back – full £89.99 + VAT despite my previous letter to the MD stating the case for a significant discount based on the above.

Elite's website states that they “work on a 48 hour repair schedule, subject to no complication” but here the single complication was answered by me within hours and it has now taken nearly 5 weeks. I’ve very disappointed at the service which I think is unacceptable for a nationwide repairing company that “offer fast and stress free solutions convenient to your needs”.

It was more than 1 month since Elite received my phone that I have seen the repair completed: I had no choice but to pay as I have offered to do four weeks previously weeks but would really think elite should not have charged in the circumstances and should consider issuing a refund. I would certainly appreciate a reply to my letter of complaint, which I have not yet received.

I’m going to be finding as many feedback review sites as I can to post the above details as I think people deserve to know to avoid Elite, given my experiences.
