If T-mobile Still Offers This Nokia 3390 Mobile Ph

If T-Mobile still offers this Nokia 3390 mobile phone avoid it at all costs. I keep having to call them, and having them send new ones. Upgrade to samsung or something else... nokia phones aren't really any good.

I First Got This Nokia 3390 Mobile Phone In Novemb

I first got this Nokia 3390 mobile phone in November of 2002, worked great, then in August it wouldn't ring. I was under the impression that people stopped calling me, until I checked my voice mail. The cell phone company switched it free of charge. The replacement I received was terrible. It would "hang up" in the middle of a conversation, shut-off on it's own, and show "WAIT! Sim Card is not ready. I talked to a friend of mine who is an electrical engineer, he said to check the contacts, clean them with vinegar and see if that worked. If it didn't get them to replace the phone. Well, cleaning the contacts worked. This phone is tight!

Yep, with plain Q-tips © and vinegar.

The Nokia 3390 Is A Very Solid Phone. I've Droppe

The Nokia 3390 is a very solid phone. I've dropped it all over the place. My friend has the very same phone. She actually had it in her pocket and it fell out and went down the the slit between the elevator and wall and it fell to the basement. There was nothing except for a little chip off the bottom and the phone still works to this day! This phone is well worth the $50 that many people pay for it. I recieved the phone for free because I saw a special promo online through T-Mobil. In any case THIS IS A GREAT PHONE and it looks nice on top of it all!

I Love My Nokia 3390. It's Worked Flawlessly For A

I love my Nokia 3390. It's worked flawlessly for almost a year now. Several friends have the same phone and I haven't heard of any problems from them. The best thing was the phone was free with the plan.

Trust Me, I'm Not Exaggerating When I Give This Ph

Trust me, I'm NOT exaggerating when I give this phone 0 stars! When I went to change my service, I was talked into trading my Nokia 6190 for a new Nokia 3390. What a mistake. The phone looked promising at the store. It worked very much the same as my 6190, but with some added features. I got home, charged it, then began to try it out. Within a few minutes, the menu beep died. I continued, figuring it was nothing...then the phone cut off. I tried again, and got the same results. Checked the battery and SIM card, but both where secure and clean. I tried to make some calls with it, but it died halfway though...again.

So, I brought it back and got my old Nokia 6190 back. It's been working for almost 3 years now, even using the original battery!

Oh, I should mantion...while I was waiting, about 5 other people came into the store ALSO returning their Nokia 3390's...

You probably got a faulty model, I've had mine since june 2001 and it is a BETA model so its suppost to have MORE problems but a new battery and great ruby red faceplates seem to do the job of keeping my phone current!!!!

I have this phone and it works great. I have never had any problems with it.

This is a great simple phone. It does exactly what it's supposed to do. The construction feels VERY solid and I like the battery compartment because the battery is physically locked into place. Like someone else said, faceplates and other accessories are dirt cheap and very widely available. As to the reviewer that awarded "0 stars," I have to wonder why he didn't just exchange the phone for a new one. Every company puts out a bad run of products...that's why retailers created exchanges!

i agree ... some problems i've had with my phone was that it's caller id never worked. So i spent a whole year and a half not knowing who was calling when it rang. Another problem i've encountered was the ringtones. It has about 5 empty slots for downloading ringtones. I don't download, cause i fear i will have to pay for it, so i compoase my own. i send it to myself but it can only recieve 1 at a time, when there are 4 other slots open! The last problem was sending and receiving text/picture messages, I couldn't do either!!! this phone sux!!!

I also disagree

I used to have a Nokia 3390 and it was great!!! I had no problems with it aside from dropping it. I prefer my Motorola C332 over it but I miss the simplicity of my Nokia the 3 button design is excelent and the numbers are sooooooo easy to push(i've had many problems calling people on my moto). I would recomend this phone to anyone. And best of all you can get faceplates for like 3 bucks(my moto is like 25 bucks each faceplate!!) I miss it but I still like my C332 more.
