My Father Owned This Nokia 6600 Phone During 2005
My father owned this Nokia 6600 phone during 2005 and now he changed to another model. The large screen size is good for multimedia content.Very bulky and may give little trouble to carry on.Keypad is very small which includes basic keys for operation. With installed Symbian OS it is not secure and it is prone to viral attacks.Third party anti-virus tools can help to protect the phone.Connectivity options include bluetooth and IR but USB data cable is not available. After connecting the web via GPRS it renders the page at good speed.Useful and must have software are not available inside the phone such as DivX player,Security tools and a good web browser.Default players can play only mp3,3gp,real media ,wav and aac file formats.By using third party media players the list can be extended. Finally spending money on this phone is not a good option because there are so many good models with advanced features available in this price range.

Well, I Liked The Nokia 6600 Phone To Be Honest, B
Well, I liked the Nokia 6600 phone to be honest, but I lost it after 6 months for the main reason of I forgot where I left it & when I called on it I could not hear it at work one of the comments I mentioned above! On the whole if you are looking just for a good phone, this is one of them, just as long as you don't SMS all the time!!!! The battery life is not great as you will have to charge this Nokia once a day - full charge a must, for a full day's mind at rest. If you are a person who uses the phone all day take the charger with you so you will not be disappointed.
The Nokia 6600 was not a bad mobile phone at its time, but it did had a few flaws. One of them was adding games or programs to the 6600, and the mobile would crash or just stall. The only other thing it had was that the ringtones are too low.
I kind of liked the Nokia 6600 mobile phone. It reminded me of the SX1. The screen was really nice, and it is still packed with up-to-date features 2 years later.

Having Been Desperate To Get My Hands On A Nokia 7
Having been desperate to get my hands on a Nokia 7650, I was really pleased when Nokia released the 6600, and even happier when O2 let me upgrade for free 2 years ago.
Open the box and you're confronted with something akin to a black and white bar of soap. It's a nice shape to hold, but it's thinner at the bottom than the top, so I found I kept dropping it. It didn't seem to affect the phone at all however, and because it's black the chipped plastic is barely noticeable.
Turn the phone on, and the Nokia logo jerks, which isn't great on a new phone. It's not particularly important, as the phone is otherwise pretty quick (for an S60), but that stuff should get sorted out at the R&D stage.
The keypad is a really nice one. In fact, it is one of the best I've used. Soft, smooth keys. My only complaint would be that a few of the bottom keys are a little fiddly for fat fingered folk like me.
Being a Symbian phone, chances are you'll want to take advantage of its expandable memory and wide range of available applications. What might slow you down is the lack of a pop port connector, meaning any applications you want to install need to go on via infrared or bluetooth. Both are slower and less reliable than a pop port connection.
The other thing is the naff software you get, which is bespoke for the 6600, unlike other Symbian phones which use the standard Nokia Data Suite. There are better applications available than Data Suite, as I'm sure most phone gurus know, but I'm lazy!
Over the course of a year's ownership the phone was subjected to some decent abuse, and it survived it all. Upgrading to a 128Mb memory card didn't slow it down either. It has since gone to New Zealand with my brother, and the abuse has continued. It's looking a little scratched, but it's survived well and still works, which is more than could be said for his 7610 which gave up the ghost before its year in his ownership was up.
This should be pretty cheap to buy now via eBay, and it is a really good phone. Highly recommended.

I Bought The Latest Nokia 6600 Black Edition Just
I bought the latest Nokia 6600 black edition just last week, and I gave my Samsung X-660 to my wife.
The screen size and quality is awesome; taking pictures and playing games are now more exciting. The 65k colours are vivid, and I couldn't imagine its beauty if it's in 262k colours screen!
Battery life is acceptable. I've got 2 days of power for taking pictures, playing Java games, recording videos, calling and sending text/MMS messages.
The features - I couldn't ask for more. I've just missed the FM radio. Perhaps the only downside of ample and robust features in the phone is that the interface is slow to respond.
The phone's operating system is the Symbian 7.0s and it belongs to Nokia series 60 platform group.
The Nokia 6600 comes with 32Mb MMC memory card in the sales package. A salute to Nokia people; phone memory plus the MMC card could store a lot of pictures, videos, games, applications, and more.
I've got a good reception. Even in a dead spot I still have one bar on my screen. No problems in this area.
The style is still eye-catching, even though it was released 2 years ago. Rigid looking yet elegant.
I bought the Nokia 6600 at a reduced price of $210 US dollars. Not a surprise anymore considering there's a new model handset coming out on the market in every month!

The Nokia 6600 is a Symbian mobile phone which means that it works like a computer allowing it to install things like MP3 Players, image editors and games etc.
Overall, I think that this is a good phone, but I would not recommend it because there are many other phones on the market that are better.
