The Nokia 6610i Is A Snazzy Phone, Sleek And Can J

The Nokia 6610i is a snazzy phone, sleek and can just slip into pocket!! I would highly recommend this phone to anyone. Its features and small size with flat buttons makes it a delight to text and call from and easy to navigate. I love it!

It has: easy text messaging, predictive text, multimedia messaging, registers and saves all incoming and outgoing calls for monitoring, speed dialling for contacts list, easy to change settings, great radio when used with headset to receive signal. Camera and gallery to view images and edit, personal organiser with calendar and reminders, games, calculator, timer and stopwatch. Mobile Internet also and Infrared. However, it doesn't have Bluetooth.

The Nokia 6610i Phone Is Quite Good For The Price.

The Nokia 6610i phone is quite good for the price. It includes a high quality radio which can be played through the loud speaker but requires headset to act as the antenna. For more info visit this very good website www.mobilephones-info.com.

The Nokia 6610i Should Be Better Than It Is. Audio

The Nokia 6610i should be better than it is. Audio quality is biggest problem. For the price it's poor value as my T610 over 2 years ago has more features. It would be great as a basic phone thats easy to use and only does what you want if it wasn't for the audio quality which is mediocre, and it seems I'm not alone in finding this out. Sold after less than 2 weeks.

It Really Is Infuriating That After All These Year

It really is infuriating that after all these years Nokia still can't get some of the most fundamental basics sorted on so many of their phones. Like on the 6610i, the case creaks when using the keypad, which itself is so dimly and unevenly lit that in low ambient light, text messaging takes about three times as long as on phones with decently illuminated keypads like (ironically) their own 3510i which is brilliant (in both senses) - I still use one now for that reason. I fact I bought a 6610i on the strength of the 3510i thinking it would be an improvement as it looks like their natural evolution of the 3510i but in actual fact it's a step back (several steps back in fact). Nokia in particular seem so pre-occupied with all the gizmos these days they seem to forget all about their phones' actual usability.

Also like so many others these days this phone is just too small. It all makes so many of their phones - like this one - look and feel so cheap, which really this one is decidedly not (cheap, that is). If they made a bigger version with a decent sized screen it would still fit in the average shirt pocket or handbag and be far easier to actually use. I would be interested to hear from Nokia themselves if they ever bother looking at stuff like this. I would not recommend it to a friend for the above reasons.

After Having Had A 6610 And A 7250i, I Wanted One

After having had a 6610 and a 7250i, I wanted one with the looks of the 6610 with the features of the 7250i, and I found it on the 6610i. Problem with mine is I can't assign ringtones to the different caller groups. It goes back to the default tone. Which is an unusual problem. I checked the others in other stores, and they all had the same problem.

Otherwise it's a very easy to use, feature packed phone.

I have a Nokia 6610i and i have the same problem i.e. I cannot assign different ringtones to the Caller Groups-it keeps reverting to the default ring tone. Its happened in other Nokia 6610i phones in a mobile phone shop. Unfortunately, I cannot get the problem resolved.

The Nokia 6610i Phone Is Quite Good For The Price.

The Nokia 6610i phone is quite good for the price. It includes a high quality radio which can be played through the loud speaker but requires headset to act as the antenna. The loudspeaker is very good when using as a phone call or listening to the radio. This phone has good reception. Has a Simple key pad layout whcih is good for txting. The 0.1 megapixel camera is not as bad as said, it is 288x352 which may seem small but is not that bad. The camera has a usable night mode, portrait mode and self timer for 10 seconds. Amazingly this phone has 4mb of memory (3.6mb usable)

However this Nokia 6610i is let down by the screen. The screen is of decent resolution 128x128, but it is an out dated STN Passive matrix display which looks ok but has ghosting which ruins the camera view finder mode and makes the camera look bad. It is also noticeable when in games and scrolling fast. The polyphonics are not that great either. However they are loud and nice to hear but are too simplistic they are only for voice, which means 4 tones can be played at once, where as more expensive ones like the 6230 have at least 24 tones played at once. From my observations this phone is identical to the Nokia 7250i, the cases fit each other! Technically they are the same. However I like this phone still and I would recommend. Since it does a lot for a low price. I got this for $430 NZD.

I Have Had This Phone For Little Over A Month, I H

I have had this phone for little over a month, I have found it to be (as all Nokia phones in my experience) reliable, very easy to use menus, a good distance between keys (a must when texting is a high use!) generally very good quality!

I have a few friends with picture phones, but haven't rated the quality much, and although in a very darkened area or long distance the quality is poor, to say it is a camera integrated with a phone picture quality is excellent!

The only issue I have at present is finding accessories for the phone. I travel long distances but can not use my phone as I have not yet found an in car package which fits the 6610i, and I have been lead to believe that the 6610 and the 6610i have different connection points.

I Used To Own A Nokia 6220. Due To A Car Accident

I used to own a Nokia 6220. Due to a car accident I lost it and so was looking for something similar, without the added price. I then came across the new Nokia 6610i and bought it on eBay, brand new, for $299 (the same price as the Nokia 3200's were on pre-pay at the time).

To start the phone is lightweight, small and stylish. This is instantly a winner with me, as style is everything. Friends of mine on the Three Network have these incredible phones, which make them look like they're happy to see me every time they try and cram them in their pockets. The buttons are also large and easy to push. It has been criticized as being 'just like the other Nokia's', but why mess with something that is obviously a winner in style & usability?

Now on to the software. The 6610i has the latest of everything. WAP 2.0, XHTML Browser, Java, the lot... What this creates is a phone that will undoubtedly last longer then even a more expensive phone, suffering from aging software. This puts its usable life on par with my past more expensive phone, the 6220.

With the added CIF Camera aimed at Mobile Use, it is not intended to be used in place of a Digital Camera or for high quality pictures. As long as the user can keep this in mind, it is a welcome bonus. Those looking for the quality of a VGA camera should definitely look elsewhere. Otherwise it is a joy to play use, with low/medium/high quality shots, night mode and portrait, the user can have a lot of fun snapping away, or even productively for communication with other mobiles.

Compared to my old 6220, this phone does not come with Video or Audio capture. However the Video capture on the 6220 using the CIF camera was less then impressive, and is not missed. Audio capture would have been useful, but for such a reduction in price (less then half the cost of the 6220) perhaps this is the one feature it can go without.

I have invested (and would highly recommended others do) in an infrared for my computer, $10 off ebay. This allows me to synchronise my contacts & calendar with outlook, and download Games (Java Applets), ringtones and pictures to my phone for free! This in my opinion increases the phones usage and worth ten fold! The free online software is feature packed for something you don't have to buy, and the latest Java on the phone results in excellent compatibility with most Java applications you can find to download.

Most other features are identical to that of its more expensive cousin. It has a 4096 colour screen, detailed contacts with the option of adding pictures, easy to use WAP 2.0, and a bunch of other features I'm never going to remember. These are basically the same as the 6220, and for my uses which range from calls/sms/mms/email/java apps/etc I have not found any notable exclusions in the software. If you do know of any please post what it is to keep readers informed! The 6610i even has more memory then the 6220! So basically if you remove the poor video capture and remove the voice recording options of the 6220, upgrade the software (I think) and you'll have the 6610i at half the price!

My 'opinion' is that my downgrade to the Nokia 6610i, for half the price and the loss of video/audio recording, was definitely worth the savings! For the low price, even the lower-end users of the market would be better off picking up one of these off eBay, instead of the same priced alternative (a less capable pre-pay for example) Low-Middle end users will not be disappointed due to its new software & features, but those demanding the highest quality Video/Audio/Multimedia best look towards a new LG or Samsung.

I recommend the 6610i towards the majority of mobile phone users after basic functionality coupled with the latest software & features to keep their purchase useful for as long as possible.
