I Remember My Mate Having One Of These When They H
I remember my mate having one of these when they had not long come out and I always wanted one but wasn't aloud a mobile at the time because I was too young.
When I was eventually aloud a mobile the SAVVY was no longer available so I bought the cheapest phone in the Orange shop at the time which was a Siemens A55 at £79.99 (somewhat more expensive than the SAVVY which was £39.99 in Woolies when I wanted one originally).
I was very pleased with my phone and it did what I wanted it to and it was easy to use. However, due to an unfortunate incident involving me, my phone, a boat and the sea, just 3 months after I bought it it stopped working. I couldn't afford a new phone again this soon after buying this one so I looked on eBay and bought a SAVVY for about £15 inc P&P.
I finally got what I wanted! It was everything I hoped and more. It did pretty much everything my A55 did except Polyphonic ringtones (big deal) and WAP (never used it anyway cause its a rip off). Anyway, it lasted me a few months and never failed and was the best easiest to use phone I ever used. However, eventually for some unknown reason my A55 decided to work again so I went back to using that as it was smaller and lighter (no other reason!).
As I was no longer using the SAVVY I gave it to my grandad to keep in his car for emergencies. He has used it since until recently when the battery decided it no longer wanted to charge. I am sure the phone is still fine and would work perfectly again with a new battery but it is not really required anymore so unfortunately it is now living unused in a cupboard somewhere at my Nana and Grandad's house.
I still believe the SAVVY could give a lot of phones even now a run for their money in many aspects and it certainly still has it's place and will always have a place in my heart and will always be my favourite phone I have ever owned.
In summary, it's best points are it's simplicity and ease of use and you will have to work very hard to break it! (I dropped mine on concrete floors many times and (apart from the battery cover coming unclipped a couple times) it never even marked it! BRILLIANCE!!!

Well, I Rescued This Philips Savvy Phone From One
Well, I rescued this Philips Savvy phone from one of those old phone boxes, in immaculate condition, with 2 different chargers and an instruction manual and a sim card! For a free phone this is very impressive, even now, but if I had paid any money for it, I would be sorely disappointed. The only good things about this phone are the ease of use and the build quality. Other than that there is absolutely nothing good about this phone. If you are either a collector, mad or can get this phone for free like I did, then get one! If not, then stay well away at all cost!

I Bought My Philips Savvy Mobile Phone About Five
I bought my Philips Savvy mobile phone about five years ago as a pay-as-you-go phone. It worked exactly as advertised and had only one failure. The failure was because I dropped it into the sea while "rescuing" some girls who had been cut off by the tide at our local beach. Corrosion caused the battery connection to corrode and after a brief call to the Orange help line, decided for myself that all I needed to do was scrape the green corrosion from the contacts with my trusty Swiss Army Knife.
Oh yes... the battery level indicator on the monochrome screen sometimes doesn't register... it is simply blank. I have discovered that by cleaning the spring battery contacts and prising the spring contacts out so that they make a firmer contact full service can be restored.
I had to change the NiCd battery pack after about four years as it refused to hold a charge in spite of my proper application of known NiCd charging routines.
An old machine bit rugged and lovable. It's a pity that this old workhorse will probably be going to the grave. I will always keep my first mobile and use it until it dies.

I Hate The Philips Savvy, It Is Too Old And Theref
I hate the Philips Savvy, it is too old and therefore it is not up-to-date with the newer phones and technology. It has a small screen but it still is a good screen. I would not recommend to buy one but if you already own one then keep it.

This Philips Savvy Is A Good Starter Mobile Phone,
This Philips Savvy is a good starter mobile phone, it was my first phone, BUT with only two lines of txt, and no prodictive TXT, and hard to uderstand menus...that you get used to...this was once my grandparents phone and it was NOT suited for them...too hard to use...they chose a Nokia 3310 instead and gave this one to me, in 2000...i have now got a new phone. It was only a phone I used untill I got a job and could afford a new one.

I Recently Bought A Sendo M550 Because My Philips
I recently bought a Sendo M550 because my Philips Savvy was like the mobile phone in the advert that hides under a brown paper bag. The M550 is small with colour screen, games and lots of gizmos. Great for posing but not a patch on the Savvy for just making calls. The Savvy will pick up the network where the M550 wont. It's easy to operate with large buttons and a screen you can read in direct sunlight.
True it has no street cred but it's as tough as the 1/4 house brick it resembles - ideal for my hobby of mountain biking over rough terrain. I've dropped it many times, enough to make the back fly off and the battery to come out, and occasionally the aerial to come off. Just pick up the bits, bung them back together, and it works. Bet the M550 wouldn't after a spill.
So I'm keeping my Savvy for as long as it works. No bells and whistles, but it's a gem if all you want to do is make calls and not have to treat your mobile with kid gloves.

I Bought This Philips Savvy Mobile Phone In Summer
I bought this Philips Savvy mobile phone in summer 2000 as my first phone! It is a great starter phone and gives you a great introduction to mobile phoning! If I had to go back and buy my first phone again it would definitely be this one! Although lacking in games and other features, such as Bluetooth, its a great starter phone and I would definitely choose it due to its easy to read screen compared with something like the Nokia 3310/3330.

I purchased Philips Savvy 3 years ago. It is the best I ever had. It is durable and is very easy to operate. Has user friendly menu which is not at all complicated like other mobile sets.

I Paid £20 For My Philips Savvy Mobile Phone
I paid £20 for my Philips Savvy Mobile Phone three years ago and it's yet to let me down. It's simplicity and durability are it's biggest benefits. I've lost count of how many times I've droped it now and there is barely a scratch on it. I bought my mum a sagem last christmas and neither her or I have yet worked out many of it's faffy features. Friends may follow the sheep and want pointless picture phones at 40p a picture, personaly I'm able to use a camera so I'll be sticking with my savvy for a while yet.
