The Sony Ericsson T200 Mobile Phone Doesn't Have T

The Sony Ericsson T200 mobile phone doesn't have the BASIC feature of adding a NEW number from the phonelist - it is embedded somewhere in the Phonebook feature which is NOT DOCUMENTED! I had to ring the UK hotline (I am from Australia) as the Australian Sony Ericsson helpline closes at 6pm.

It constantly switches itself off on a charged battery, this started happening after 2 months!

If you don't turn the ALARM off before it automatically switches itself off, you will need to power-on your phone at least TWICE!! Otherwise you will not get any picture/images on your screen after the first power-on.

The software is totally buggy. My phone now defaults the profile to Portable Handsfree.

I can't receive or make calls on it anymore. This phone is only 6 months old!!!! Sony Ericsson will not change the handset.

(Sony Ericsson response)

Sony Ericsson will not

provide you with a refund or a brand new handset under their warranty terms and conditions.

Best Regards,

Marcus

The Sony Ericsson T200 Is A Very Poor And Unreliab

The Sony Ericsson T200 is a very poor and unreliable mobile phone. If you need an emergency back-up phone while yours is under repair, then it's fine as it is better than nothing.

The back-light is very bright. It sucks battery power and it's been in the shop 3x for reception and sound quality issues.

After it was finally repaired, it was lost. I paided too much for this phone. I dont recommend it and as a whole, I don't recommend Sony Ericsson products, especially if they are made in China.

I Found This Sony Ericsson T200 Phone To Be Very B

I found this Sony Ericsson T200 phone to be very bad after a year of having it. I have replaced it three times. Once because the ringer stopped working, the second because it wouldnt let me call anyone and the third was when the menu wouldnt work. I have lost the phone many times because it is very small. The worst part is not being able to use it in basements or large buildings.

I Got A Sony Ericsson T200 Because I Needed A Chea

I got a Sony Ericsson T200 because I needed a cheap world phone for travel. This is a light but fairly solid little handset. I have fairly large hands, but the phone is easy to hold and use and I had no problems with the keypad. Sure, the keys are small and close together, but this is a TINY phone, after all, and they don't skimp much on the screen, which is a nice size. The screen and keypad are beautifully backlit.

The menu system is not intuitive, and there are no "soft" keys. For example, to get back to the standby screen from deep inside the menus you have to keep pressing NO or press and hold NO, but this is also how you turn off the phone, and it's easy to do it accidentally. On the plus side, all this simplifies the keypad which makes it easier to navigate by touch (once you learn)-- the phone is very ergonomic in this way.

There are a couple of truly dumb features. You cannot punch in a number and then save it as a contact--you have to scoll to the phonebook and add contacts starting with the name, always. You can spare yourself SOME of the pain if you set up "Add [and Edit] contact" as shortcuts. Also, speed dialing (no one-touch!) is awkward and annoying to set up. Overall, the menu is clearly inferior to previous Nokia, Motorola, and LG phones I have used. That aside, I found that once I had the phone set up (particularly by customizing the My Shortcuts menu), it was fairly easy to use.

Reception is not exceptional but OK, and sound quality is pretty good. Battery life is decent also.

The T200 is quite rich in features for such an inexpensive phone. A nice feature is the one-touch browser access. Games, ringtones, and pictures appear to be fairly limited, but I don't really care about those things very much.

The user guide was disappointing. For example, it doesn't even tell you how to lock the keypad (press and hold C then 2 to lock, press C then YES to unlock)! I suggest you "try the phone" at www.sonyericsson.com/ca/spg.jsp?page=start before buying to see how you like the interface.

If you want killer performance and business-class features in a world phone, go for it and spend the extra money on a Nokia 6310i. Otherwise, you won't find a better value in an entry-level world phone than the T200.

This Is My 3rd Ericsson Phone. For Its Price (nz$3

This is my 3rd Ericsson phone. For its price (NZ$300), it offers a good range of features and I find the interface is easy to use. On the downside, the ringtones and pictures are dumb - would be nice to be able to download new ones. Overall though, a good, solid phone that is affordable and functional.

The CD with DCU-11 data cable for USB port clearly stats that the web site www.sonyericsson.com is having a PC software for "Phone monitor options" to configure this T200 phone through this cable for Win 98se but I failed to find any such software on this site.

Personally I Think This Phones Features Are Really

personally i think this phones features are really good, the menu is easy to navigate n im not bothered about playing games. the ringtones could be better but at the end of the day its for recieving giving calls on so aslong as it does the jo thats wot matters to me. i think the phones blue backlight is funky altho it wud b nice to be able to turn the brightness down! the only flaw with this phone is the outer casing, it luks quite cool but after a few months the silver bit starts to crack, mine has done in 3 places n i havent dropped it or anything. for instance last nite it was fine n wen i woke up this morning a new crack ahd developed in it. maybe the company shud design a cover that wont break coz its not very good after only having had the fone for 3 months!
