Despite Its Age, It's Still A Great Little Phone,

Despite its age, it's still a great little phone, missing GSM 850 band which wasn't available from any manufacturer at the time. Bought this used in Manila, Philippines unlocked and have used it traveling around different places. Asia is particularly inexpensive obtaining and using a prepaid SIM; Canada, Europe tends to be much more expensive using a prepaid plan. I basically wanted a good quality basic phone, long lasting battery life for talking and standby. The battery tends to be shorter in life than advertised, but still quite good for my needs and able to recharge before it's battery life is depleted. I like the small size to easily carry in my pants pocket.

The Sony Ericsson T68i Mobile Phone Is Simply For

The Sony Ericsson T68i mobile phone is simply for someone who wants to contact other people. It is good for that because it does not break easily. However, this phone is no hi-tech media center, and as I said, is purely for the purpose of contacting others.

Owned The Sony Ericsson T68i For About 2-3 Years,

Owned the Sony Ericsson T68i for about 2-3 years, and was very impressed by the battery life. It can last a week without recharge with minimal usage.

However, the reception on it is abysmal. I thought it was my service provider, but my friend has a T610 and he has similar reception problems, I assume it must be a problem with Sony phones. I could only get vaguely good reception in the open air, at work and at home I could barely get anything. The bluetooth is dodgy.

Because the reception is so bad, you end up resending messages over and over, which might be OK if it didn't take SIX key presses to resend a message. The processor is slow as well, and the screen has limited colours so you get terrible banding.

Camera is attachable, not in-built.

The Bluetooth Is Naff Without The Software Update,

The Bluetooth is naff without the software update, I tried connecting it up to my PC (eMachines 330) via USB Bluetooth Adapter, and then... ...nothing, my T68i crashes whenever I try to send or receive files via Bluetooth, shuts itself down without warning on a regular basis, and has the tendency to say "Low Battery Power" when I've just charged it up. Explain that.

If You Are Interested In A T68i Phone... Run Away

If you are interested in a T68i phone... RUN AWAY SCREAMING NOW.... It is the most infuriatingly slow phone I have ever had the misfortune to use. I actually grew a beard whilst waiting for it to boot up so I could make a call.

The screen is not all that either. I had the handset replaced twice due to failure and when it failed a third time I was due an upgrade and jumped at the chance.

The reception was poor too. I could use another brand phone on the same network that had a near perfect reception whilst my own had none..

The battery life is great- but that's probably due to the fact that you either have no reception to make calls or that by the time its booted up and ready for you to make your call you have slipped into a coma like sleep..

I am not a fan of any particular brand of phone, but I have now got a handset that I am really happy with that just illustrates just how bad the T68i really was.

PLEASE THINK AGAIN

The Sony Ericsson T68i Is A Nice And Compact Mobil

The Sony Ericsson T68i is a nice and compact mobile phone and over the past year I've found it to be very reliable. Ocasionally it will switch itself off but very rarely. Viewing the screen in bright light is difficult (for my old eyes anyway). I have only had limited success using it for Internet access as a modem via the IR port on my laptop. This was one of the main reasons I went for it.

I Was Pleased With My Sony Ericsson T68i When I Fi

i was pleased with my Sony Ericsson T68i when i first got it, but as time went on i realised that the signal reception was absolutely abysmal. The inability to send text messeges for c. 90% of the time rather annoyed me (what do you expect, im 15, textings all i ever do! lol).

The idea of all the features such as bluetooth etc. are good, but they seem too much for the phone to handle.

General Usage: Rubbish. I Dread Everytime I Have

General usage: Rubbish. I dread everytime I have to reply to a text message - my thumb isn't *that* big, and I keep hitting the wrong button.

Over time (I've had this Sony Ericsson T68i mobile phone just over a full year) - the buttons and joystick becomes unreliable, the On/Off (or No) button is now almost unworkable, other navigation buttons are going the same way.

Menu system is okay - quite pleasing to the eye, but avoid this if you like texting (as I do) because it's about 4-5 button presses just to write a new text message, and quite a few more button presses again to actually send it - not the most efficient way of using it.

Battery cover isn't of good design - it creaks with use and gives a feeling of poor quality of product - this is from brand new.

My opinion is that this phone isn't designed for daily usage, prone to wear and tear very easily, and not suitable for texting, and the processor isn't fast enough to do much on it (although its default games play ok). I dread to think how the processor copes with pictures if there was an optional camera attached to it (which for the price of the option, you can buy a compact digital camera anyway that does a better job).

The reception on this phone isn't as good as others - it's more fussy in both low and high signal strength areas and cuts out where other phones still manage to keep a reception link.

I know another four users of this phone - they aren't happy bunnies and has changed it at the eariliest opportunity (they got a Siemens, Panasonic and Nokia). I am changing this phone for a Siemens and I'm not a big Nokia fan, so don't think I hate this phone because it's not a Nokia.

I Quite Like The Shape And Compactness Of This Son

I quite like the shape and compactness of this Sony Ericsson T68i mobile phone. I think it looks smarter than some of the new phones that may have superior features. This phone is not probably for people who constantly use the text facility. I am not happy with the following:

The battery is not well fitted and creeks with use.

Joystick developed a crack after a couple of months and came off about the 11th month.

Charger gave up and caused inconvenience trying to get a replacement

Unhappy with the customer service although they replaced the charger.

I do like the this phone solely from point of Aesthetics.
