The Binatone MD2000 is a nice phone, but the display is , and lets it down badly. Binatone will not provide free repair or replacement outside of the 1 year guarantee, and a replacement handset costs as much as it did new. I would not buy from Binatone again because of the display problem.

The Binatone MD 2000 is a good bargain at 30€. I run it at on an ISDN system, the sound quality is not overwhelming as with any cordless. Go for VOIP for good sound quality.
As for the software features its got a 30 entry deep caller list, which is deletable. But the "made calls" list is not deletable, except with full reset. Its got outgoing call limitation with PIN, which is often necessary with cordless phones. The display illumination goes off a bit too soon, though. The microphone sensitivity is quite good.
Also: its got an ON/OFF button (battery save, if out of reach), if you want to be undisturbed its 1 button. Beside that you can swith off ringer volume, too, of course.
The manual, however, particularly in it's German translation is very mediocre. It roughly explains most (but not all menu features), but is obviously written by someone who has no knowledge about telephony systems amd it's background. But you can get this knowledge from the internet, or other telephone manufacturers, who actually print proper manuals.
The MD2000 in fact has a clock that miraculously works via the phone line. It must not and cannot be set manually. However, a drawback is hangup detection: this fails on some PBX. Every call to the TAM then uses up a full minute of the 6 available.
