I Particularly Wanted A Clock Radio With Telephone
I particularly wanted a clock radio with telephone and they are not easy to come by. I previously had a Binatone model but the radio rotary dial was hard to tune. Once I saw the Magicbox Unity I felt it was just what I wanted but at full price it was £150 so I bought a reconditioned unit for £27.
The dab radio is excellent and tunes itself in. I had a bit of trouble setting up the clock and alarm as you have to be in the right menu (need the manual). There is a variable sleep and snooze function. The answer phone is really easy to use once you have set up the time and date etc. You just press a button to set or unset and it has a message counter on the front. You can also use the answer phone remotely by using a special code to pick up your messages. The handsets hold up to 100 numbers. Caller ID is possible with a compatible service. The handsets come complete with rechargeable batteries.
Overall I am quite please with the system. There does seem to be some problem with the answer phone base charging unit which flashes sometimes even though not in use and the handset went blank and refused to work. I found that by taking the batteries out and putting them back in again cured this and I've had not problem since.
