Canon EOS 1000D

For me it's a great camera, it's enough for my skills. I make high-quality pictures, sometimes I shoot video, I can connect a microphone. It's easy to maintain and very well done.

The camera is of course an excellent camera and takes phenomenal photos, However for me compared to the version before this, this is a difficult camera to use easily . I don't want to have spend 5 minutes looking for the correct settings and trying to find the correct colour I want to use. Like I said amazing pictures but way too complex for an amateur photographer like me (who they are marketing it to actually!)

Canon EOS 1000D is one of the best DSLR camera available. It gives a splendid shot almost every time and its this that really matters. Canon 1000D is a 10.1 MegaPixel DSLR. Its salient features include Digic III processor (Canon trademark), all shooting modes like Auto, Portrait, Landscape, Close-up, Sports, Night Portrait, No Flash, Program AE , Shutter priority AE, Aperture priority AE, Manual, A-DEP found in a contemporary digital camera, ISO range of 100 - 1600 (in 1-stop increments), shutter speeds of 1/4000 to 30 sec. (1/3-stop increments), real-time evaluative metering with the image sensor, approx. 3 shots/sec (jpg) and approx. 1.5 shots/sec (RAW + JPEG), 2.5" TFT display, 95% viewfinder coverage, 7 AF points (Manual / Automatic), +/-2 EV in 1/3 or 1/2 stop increments & strong inbuilt flash (Guide No. 13). Camera's crop factor is 1.6.

10 MegaPixel is a good resolution for developing A3 size prints and in my opinion, a higher resolution is pretty unnecessary for most non-commercial usage. ISO at 1600 is grainy and photography above ISO 800 is not recommended. Auto focus is not supported in digital display mode, however once you start seeing through the view finder, you may never want to switch back to digital display. More AF points would have been a definite advantage. Continuous shooting speed of 3 shots/sec may not enthuse a sports photographer, but quite OK for capturing cake cutting at a birthday party. Inbuilt flash is powerful. It is the most compact DSLR, easy to hold & carry and comparably light weight. Crop factor of 1.6 is not an issue for the first timers. For others who are upgrading from film SLRs to DSLRs, there might be an initial adjustment problem. Overall, the features of the camera easily cover photographing most real life situations and is highly recommended at the price. I am using this camera with Tamron f2.8 17-50mm XR Di II IF & Canon f4-5.6 55-250 IS.

At a higher price, you get can more no. of MegaPixels, higher ISO settings, next level processors, better high speed continuous shooting, movie recording capability, higher shutter speeds for extreme bright conditions, enhanced light metering, better autofocus, bigger LCD display, 100% viewfinder coverage and more viewfinder information. The choice remains with you.

Short and sweet I know. Go out and buy this camera and you won't be disappointed. Excellent quality pictures, focuses 99.9% perfect everytime. I have 4 lenses with mine and love it. Well done Canon AAA+++++

I have enjoyed photography as a hobby since I bought canon eos 1000d from the store .I switched back to Canon from Nikon and will possibly never go back! This is wonderful, BUY IT. I will suggest you to pick this up if you want great picture quality even you are not a professional photographer.The main feature which differentiate the product from others is compact sized battery with no memory effect so they can be recharged at any time. Charger also supplied by the company.

I bought The EOS 1000D from Canon camera for myself last year and after using it for almost a year, I thought I must post a review of what this camera is about so that it can be helpful to others

The following features impressed me most;

The higher the number of mega pixels (million pixels) the better and sharper the image quality and the more you can increase the size of your photo before it loses quality. Slideshow playback Plays back each shot in order as a slideshow.

Shows when the battery is due to be recharged or replaced.

The camera will continue to take photographs whilst the shutter button is depressed. Ideal for capturing sports events.

The screen itself is bright enough to display the photo immediately after you take one.

I'm very happy with the quality and performance of my camera. It is compact, easy to use and takes great pictures. Simply put, this camera takes excellent pictures.

This Camera is a Good Choice if you are not familiar with photography but want to make it hobby

Bout my Canon Eos 1000 in July. Easy to use hardly needed the instruction book.Very light. Picture quality is very good. I bought the 85 to 300 lens its fantastic. All round well pleased

Canon EOS 1000D is a really nice camera, was delighted to use it. The pictures taken have been fantastic. Good depth of field control, light weight for it's size, easy to use.

The Canon EOS 1000D has good ergonomic, lightweight and easy to use buttons.
