Sony Alpha DSLR-A290

This camera is excelent, I started out in photography, and this camera helped to develop my photography skills.

I have been able to acheive great things in my photography course at school, and subsequently won awards, due to this camera. It is easy to use, which i find highly important in a camera, you do not need to be an expert! I thought i would struggle with using this camera, however, within 1 hour of the set up I was enjoying taking pictures, and i was able to subsequently develop a passion for photography.

If you think this camera is perfecct for you, or if you think you will give it a miss, you must get it because it is an excllent, and highly efficient piece of kit, which in my opinion is better than some of the more expensive products out there.

I didnt give this product 5 stars because, actually, i am changing that, it deserves 5 stars, a fantastic, easy to use, effectively efficient product, that i would recommend to anybody.

I bought this camera last June (2010) and what can i say. For a "entry level" Digital SLR, you really do get what you pay fro. This is my first DSLR and the on screen help guide really helped me in working the camera!!For around £299 ($479) You get superior image quality of 14.2 MP, the 18-55mm Kit lens, pop up flash, many creative modes and of course the standard modes (Aperture priority, shutter priority) etc. If you're looking to buy your first DSLR, i would seriously recommend the A290. The viewfinder is big so you can see the full view at 18mm and when zoomed in. This camera has the features of a entry level DSLR, but don't let this fool you because with a decent memory card, the camera performs suberbly. You have probably heard a lot of bad things about Sony DSLRs and that you are better off going for a Canon or a Nikon, but Sony really do perfect their models and the specification of the cameras really live up to their potential, plus they cost a lot less than a Canon or a Nikon so there is money left for vital accesories. Don't delay, just go for this - you won't regret it.
