Atn Couger Is A Load Of Rubbish

I won one of these as a prize, and was SO glad that I had not actually bought it.

First of all, it is really hard to hold if there is the slightest bit of moisture around, and it feels like a toy.

As for the image quality, it is about as bad as it gets. Blurry and dim. You are better off saving your money and buying a torch, or a system from another manufacturer.

A mate of mine has an ATN rifle sight, and he hates it. We found out that ATN Gen 1 is all cheap Chinese stuff. What can you expect

Atn Couger

We bought an ATN Couger for our boat, and it was the worst investment that we ever made. It was so bad that we took it back to the shop for a refund.

We purchased a |Yukon 3x50 Exelon as a replacement, and it was at least 10x better than the ATN Couger, and nearly half the price.

I heard that ATN Gen1 products are all Chinese manufactured and marketed under the ATN brand. That would explain a lot.

Atn Cougar Review - Ok, So I Wasn't Expecting A Ge

ATN Cougar Review - Ok, so I wasn't expecting a gen 3 device but I was expecting to be able to see better than without it! The image gain is excessively low to the point where you need a torch to see any better than normal- but wait, if you use a torch then you don't need it in the first place! The head gear has loads of adjustment that all do nothing and the most important one (angle of goggles up/down) is missing! The image is clear only in a small part of the screen which makes is difficult to walk about safely without looking down the whole time. The illuminator makes two dim squares appear in front of you which annoy more than help. I can see very slightly better with the goggles on but the complete lack of periferal vision means that I can actually navigate easier without them. My advice is buy the next generation or a torch.

My biggest complaint however is the what is claimed by ATN, their chart of figures like 'detection range 150m' must be referring to a person during the day because 150m at best is greenish blur and all you can pick out are lights.
