a total waste of time as after two hours of trying it through our tv and dvd it wouldnt work so phoned helpline to be told it wasnt compatable even after a long discussion with the sales person who said it would another taxi costing £7 to return it and a big pohne bill too youre useless Asda Chaddesden

bought this after reading wright up on here ,great sound for the money,does not give true surround only pretend surround but still great sound off it .

Asda SP 550 surround sound system.

Bought this surround system to hook up to blu ray player. Very easy and straightforward set up. Once set up, played a blu ray disc after selecting the correct source, and setting speaker levels through the player. The sound is just incredible and crystal clear. There was a knocking effect coming from one of the rear speakers (which was part of the film) and my son actually thought that someone was at the front door!!

1x25w subwoofer and 5x10w satellites, which are very discreet and not unattractive, give massive sound. Speaker wires are about right length for my front room, but if you have a large room, get some extension cables.

Remote control is small, but well laid out, enabling the volume to be altered on each pair of speakers and the sub.

The only niggle I have with it is that when you turn the system on, it comes on at max volume, and the remote feels cheaply made.

I have the 5.1 connected to blu ray player, and 2.1 connected from sky box via the aux socket on the back of the sub.

All in all, for £40, including all the cables, you can't really go wrong, and it is an absolute steal. For surround sound on a tight budget, you will not do better than this.

Go get some before word gets around, and they sell out.

asda 5.1 cinema surround sound kit in black and sliver . 5 small speakers 1 medium size sub woofer . the power output is 75w. small speakers 10w.subwoofer 25w. there is 2 inputs one for 2.1 sound and the other is 5.1 sound . extra feature is pro-logic sound which is dolby but without the licence from them . i am using this setup on the great sky-hd and on xbox 360 together . which all i can say is wow the sound you get from the sky hd is wow never use the volume on the tv no more . and the subwoofer takes it away with the music channels and with x-factor you pick up every detail in the background . the amimal channels was great in the rainforest . i tested the sky on 5.1 and the 2.1 both was great . the xbox 360 was sound sharp playing halo 3 and call off duty was great every sound and the subwoofer picking up the bullets . last game was grand theft auto 4 when the cars blow up you hear it even when your breaking in the car you hear it smash like its your window .sadly the remote is small and very plastic with standyby .each speaker volume buttons and source button for 2.1/5.1 but for £40 in asda stores its the best deal . well happy and would recommend
