Great Idea But Difficult Channel Selection

Bought this primarily for use in the kitchen but will quite likely use it on holiday and as an in car dvd player. It has proved just the right size to fit below some shelves on our kitchen wall but while the picture is excellent it has proved necessary to use external speakers to hear it if the kettle is boiling or the dishwasher is on (luckily we usually keep an MP3 speaker in the kitchen anyway).

The program search setup is quick but it allocates unusual 3 figure numbers to the channels found, e.g. BBC1 is channel 847 (which it lists in a seemingly random order) and its menu selection for the channel guide involves pressing 3 buttons on the remote control to select so a written note is really needed of the channel numbers.

The volume control is on the side of the unit with no remote control. The remote control unit itself is small and neat but after only a couple of weeks the touch key pad is peeling off the body of the unit.

The soft in car mounting case is quite neat but covers over the power (and the aerial) sockets making it difficult, though not impossible, to insert the plugs.
