Lincoln, Lincoln Castle

Visiting Lincoln Castle is best done in union with the spectacular Cathedral nearby. Although not as big and fine looking as other castles it is still very interesting nonetheless. There are the old prison cells, which are quite macabre and atmospheric, and a room where one of four originals of the Magna carta can be viewed, along with an exhibition about the importance of the document. Overall a nice place to visit and a very pleasant couple of hours can be spent here, which is good value considering the low admission price of £3.80, at time of writing.
