I bought the guide to upgrading computers in 2003 .Since then I haven't been able to find another book that goes into such detail..nor have I been able to find an upgraded version of the book.It helped me to understand the workings of a computer,and not to be scared of taking the thing to pieces.however I now have four computers all in pieces.and one that I have managed so far not to touch,which I use regularly.Hope others that bought the book has had as much fun as I have not only reading it but taking their computers apart..thanks..

Kyle MacRae, The Computer Manual: The Step-by-step Guide to Upgrading and Repairing a PC - Haynes publications Computer Troubleshooting book is an excellent book. It shows how to find missing dll files, how to find missing cab files from Windows CD, etc., suggests site-like dll-files, bios-central.com (to understand bios beep code, etc.)

Book may come with useful shareware/freeware on CD.
