Pro Evolution Soccer 2 Is A Brilliant Football Gam
Pro Evolution Soccer 2 is a brilliant football game, with high quality graphics, I think this was completely worth the £14.99 I paid for it. I would recomend this.

After Playing Pro Evolution Soccer 2 Against A Fri
After playing Pro Evolution Soccer 2 against a friend I was so impressed that I decided to purchase the game for myself. This game is everything a football game should be, fast, exciting, skill-based and innovative.
In my opinion this game beats any of the FIFA offerings that I have played, mainly due to the stunning gameplay, the game is also fairly difficult when facing off against the computer (on various levels) and it is the sort of game that does not become monotonous and is frequently challenging. As with most sports games there is nothing more satisfying than the 2 player mode, giving the user an opportunity to secure local bragging rights by decimating a friend and this game is no exception, giving up to four players the opportunity in one football match, which at times can very confusing, but highly addictive.
For all its smooth graphics and impressive gameplay, the game does suffer in the features department as the cup competitions are mainly limited to international teams. The managerial side of the game is much to be desired as there is a bizarre transfer system which operates using points instead of pounds which can be confusing to a first time player. As well as this there is the age-old complaint regarding the commentary on football games is ever present as the repetitive nature of Trevor Brooking's and Peter Brackley's pearls of wisdom fail to really add to the game or amuse.
In the bigger picture though, these are minor complaints and shouldn't detract from the quality of this product, which is so good that I haven't felt the need to upgrade to versions 3 and 4 as I still find this version so appealing.

The in-game part (ie, the actual football bit) is really good. There hasn't yet been a better football game than this. However (and for me, this is inexcusable) the options are just horrible. They're poorly thought out, and greatly limit what you can actually do with the game. Also, it's terribly out of date, and the player and team names are screwed up, requiring manual updating.
So . . . a class game of football, sickeningly let down by some shoddy options and presentation.

I've Read All The Reviews Above And Have To Say In
I've read all the reviews above and have to say in some way i agree with them all to a degree. I was a diehard fifa fan and grew up playing most of them and thought it was as realistic a simulation as what was on the market. This was until i played a demo of pro evolution and found that, in game playing terms and realism football simulation had moved on to a different level. Fifa have tried to improve thier latest offering to incorprate wingplay and through balls such as Pro evo but has failed. The new PE2 has improved slightly from the original version making it by far the best footy sim available and leagues ahead of Fifa with regards to gameplay, but, and i think this is the point many negative reviews have made, is that it is only slightly better than pro evo 1. I for one was spoilt by Pro evo and was expecting a few more improvements and this would have made a brilliant game even better. In fairness Konami have pointed out on thier website that they are 30% where they wan't to be with the game, (can you imagine this game 70% better!!), but as with Fifa they will no doubt improve a bit at a time and like other software developers will want to keep supplying a new title and gettin the £30 or £40 a time this brings in.
In summary Pro evolution has been such a success it's possibly made us greedy for more and they would appear to have rushed the development of this latest title to coincide with the release of fifa, ( Yorkshire?? even in pro evo 1 Leeds, Liverpool and Newcastle were accurate).
PS
If anyone has any info on the update and what it does i would appreciate the feedback.

I've Played Both Pe2 And Fifa 2003 And Have Come T
I've played both PE2 and Fifa 2003 and have come to the same conclusion as i did on playing earlier versions of both games. Pro evolution is just more fun! It has a better game playing environment and is a far more realistic simulation than Fifa although it lacks the options that Fifa boasts, such as european leagues, teams and players. The lack of these options and my craving for league football reluctantly led me to Fifa 2003 but within a day I realised Pro Evolution 2 is the king of footy sims.
Konami..Please,Please,Please provide us with a proper league season option!!

As An Update On Pro Evolution Soccer I Can Say It
As an update on pro evolution soccer i can say it does not vary too greatly from the original but then again how do you improve on an almost perfect game???
I would like to see lengthened replays of goals as some of the moves that can be made in the build up to a goal can be quite phenomenal !!!
As for FIFA !!! Don't make me laugh.
The players run about as if they are on ice skates and once you learn how to score goals you can just keep repeating the same old moves over and over again.
It is just so unbelievable. Even the physics of the game are so out of touch.
In summary....
Football fans go for Pro evolution 1 or 2
Little boys who can't even spell football never mind play it go for FIFA...
