Café des Amis, Covent Garden

Having seen mixed reviews, some of which were terrible, I hesitated before visiting. However, I must say that overall, I was pleasantly surprised. I would agree with many that the service was perhaps a little too quick with the main course being served in a matter of minutes after I had finished my starter. The restaurant was clearly busy and noisy but I didn't feel that I was being hurried. The service was efficient and I found the staff polite.

I had the fish soup which was absolutely delicious and I left the restaurant having felt that I had eaten (and drunk) well. Many have complained that it was not on the cheap side but then I wouldn't expect so in Covent Garden.

It is certainly worth a try and I would consider going back next time I am in the area.
