Central Park, Middlesbrough

This place used to be the place in Middlesbrough before the other 200 plus restaurants and fast food places sprung up around them on Linthorpe Road. The pace is immaculate service good food ok, but as mentioned over priced. The drinks are nearly double than what you can get in and around the Boro.

I do not normally write reviews, but feel I must comment on our family evening at Central Park on 26th Sept 2009. Despite making a reservation my husband waited 10 mins in order to let the waiter know he was even there. The place was jammed packed (overbooking and undelivering) , and when we had waited over 1 hour we asked when we would be seated. The waitress said 'oh good' you have menus - shouldnt be too long now. 30 mins later we still waiting, so we left. before we did so my husband went to speak to the manager who quite frankly didnt seem to appear to bothered. This was a really important night for us, as my husband has just gone to work away and will be gone for a considerable period of time, and the evening would have been ruined if we had not been able to go Al Fornos.

Central Park is overpriced for oven chips and frozen onion rings. Poor quality steak as well.

This time I went with 12 friends. Initially we were sat a on table which was to small for all of us so we asked if we could move. Then we had to wait for half an hour for service which we requested ourselves in the end. When the second course EVENTUALLY CAME (in the meantime people were seated, eaten and left before this) some people's food was cold and 5 of us had to wait 10 minutes since everyone was served before receiving own food. The Central Park has gone down hill since becoming larger in my opinion.

Central Park in Middlesbrough is an excellent restaurant for couples, groups of friends & children, with an extensive & reasonably priced menu.

The staff are very professional, polite & the service is of the highest standard.

If you do visit Middlesborough, you must try the "Parmo" from Central Park, I can guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Although I have chosen the food type as British above, Central has a wide variety of food on its menu.
