Il Pomodoro, Poynton

Terrible experience.

It looked like a promising evening out but was awful. The pasta was over cooked, fish tasteless with the texture of leather. I was served a child's frozen base pizza! Apparently 9" is standard for adults. All with indifferent service.

Sorry but the bar has been raised during this recession. We all expect more form a restaurant.

Do not visit the pomodora very bad service from staff if you leave a tip the staff do not get the tips are used to pay wages witch is against the law staff are watched by leo and with cameras to make sure they hand in any tips given to them. There food is rubbish staff are not bothered about customer service just interested in taking your money. best tip of all dont eat in the pomodora and dont ever leave any tips

I live in Poynton and recently visited Il Pomodoro with my boyfriend for tea one night after a stressful day at work.

Il Pomodoro have a 1983 menu which offers prices of certain Italian dishes at 1983 prices...Great idea - or so we thought!

When the bill came we pointed out the mistake of the full priced bill to the head waiter. He proceeded to tell us that my boyfriend should have stated when he ordered his Spaghetti that he wanted the Spaghetti off the 1983 menu and not the standard spaghetti. We asked surely if there were two types of Spaghetti (a cheap one and a full priced one) then he should have pointed this out to us to check which we were ordering. He said this was down to us to clarify and that we should have said so when ordering! Apparently according to one of the waiters, the Spaghetti off the 1983 menu is made with low quality meat, the portion size is much smaller and is basically not as nice as the standard one...??? We challenged the bill and said we didn't feel that we should be paying full prices but the waiter didn't seem to care that we were unhappy. As we left we said we'd not be visiting this restaurant again and the waiter did not appear to care.

We left feeling that we'd been taken for a ride but wanted to warn other people looking for a reasonable mid week meal not to be caught out like we were.

I feel the person who wrote bad comments about this restaurant is not very honest, or may be they are used to eating fish chips. You are wrong, as from what i have seen the restaurant is always full, if the service and the food is no good and there is time delay, the restaurant will not be full, I go at least once a week

There were plenty of tables at the Il Pomodoro restaurant in Poynton. It was not very comfortable though. Waited a long time for the drinks to arrive. Food tasted good, but was expensive. Staff didn't make us feel welcome.

High quality of food and quick service. Il Pomodoro provide very polite service with staff trying to really getting to know my family.
