Pastarazzi, Chester

We booked a table for 8pm and when we arrived were asked to sit in the bar until our food was ready. There were no tables free in the bar and nobody took our drinks orders or even presented a wine list, you have to get this yourself apparently. After waiting for 25mins a waitress finally came and took our food order and offered no explanation or apology for the delay. We were finally seated one hour after arriving! When I say seated, what I mean is that we felt squeezed into a table that was literally touching the one next to, behind and in front of it. The kitchen is open so all we could hear all night was the chef shouting out orders. When we finally asked for the bill we had to wait 15mins for them to work out what we'd eaten. The food was fantastic but this was the worst dining experience I have ever had and would not recommend this restaurant and would never go there again.

The moment you step into Pastarazzi, you think "wow - this is amazing, and so rich-looking" and you might even say "it's worth the expense". Well, that's what I thought as I stepped into the exclusive looking building. We went upstairs for a few drinks before the meal. Very expensive drinks on offer. The room was amazing though, and the architecture was all original. The meal was average. The prices were a bit too much for average food. Side orders were forgotten, and they had even run out of garlic bread! Presentation was nice, and the service was pleasant. I would not go again if I was paying!
