Isinglass, Urmston

This place is a gem. I've eaten here several times and the food is consistently wonderful, like nothing else you can get in the area.

Last time I dined there I had the pigeon breast to start which was a new experience and it was delicious. For mains I had the Hereford Steak Rarebit which absolutely melted in the mouth.

It's not cheap but unlike some similiar places the portions are healthy and you definitely get what you pay for.

The food at Isinglass was terrible - soup was cold, steak wasn't cooked as requested, some diners didn't get what they ordered i.e ordered fillet steak and were given sirloin, the lamb was fatty, chips very dry, the red wine sauce that came with the steaks tasted like BBQ and wasn't at all nice, dessert nothing special. One of our diners didn't get their meal until 45 minutes after everyone else had finished theirs. We constantly had to keep reminding staff for things, such as coffee we'd ordered, diners food which didn't arrive, desert menu's, even the bill!!!! It wasn't cheap either, all in all we were left feeling very let down. We will certainly not be dining here again.
