The Marrakesh coffee bar is a new addition to Great moor street in Bolton. Great for a quick coffee the Marrakesh also serves a good English breakfast and lunch menu as well as some excellent Moroccan cuisine. The Moroccan tagines and soups are to die for and the staff are so very friendly and helpful that you feel that you are on holiday! While the menu at the moment is limited as are the opening times, this appears mainly due to it being such a new establishment testing the water but unfortunately this also leaves the custom a little scant, while I was eating I must have seen 30 people looking in but no one came inside... no one seems to know much about Moroccan food! If only I could have let them all have a sample of my mouthwatering slow cooked lamb tagine or my rich spicy soup, I'm certain that they would have all stayed! The food prices are good ( I paid '£5.95 for soup, Lamb tagine and Rice) and the coffee prices are standard (although the coffee was good!), my only reservation was the price of the soft drinks ( '£1.10 for a coke) but to be fair, most places are like this now. I would recommend the Marrakesh for a quick coffee, a breakfast or a hearty lunch and while not his usual opening times, I am told that the owner will even stay open if anyone wishes to have dinner there, which I'm already planning!
