Excellent Restaurant, We Had Ever Visited.
Excellent restaurant, I had ever visited. All the expected favourites were present with the additional of specialties from India , Bangladesh, thailand and Nepal.
The restaurant obviously recognises changing tastes and evolving patterns in a highly competitive sector. Also, a very good selection of vegetarian mains and side. I liked the offer to resize the side dishes to main portions. A nicely simple way to please the vegetarian and healthy eating market at little extra cost. the food was fresh, clean and very well presnted.
Good colours and aroma were very stimulating. the pakora and samosa were nicely spiced and not oily to the touch with a good crisp bite.the pilau rice was cooked properly with fluffy grains and a great aromai lift, served with delicipusly light chapati naan.the muglai vegetablesand chicken shaslik were beautifully prepared, succulent and not over cooked. the fresh raita was perfet accompaniment.
I had frsh raita was a perfect accompaniment.Finaly i had coconut ice-cream was delicious and married well into the preceding flovers. The wine list showed good value for money with few surprising items on offer showing a good rasp that it is better to offer quality.

Britannia Spice Has To Be, In My Opinion, The Best
Britannia Spice has to be, in my opinion, the best Indian restaurant in Edinburgh. The staff are excellent - always cheery and nothing is too much trouble for them - almost worth visiting the restaurant for themselves!
The drinks arrived within minutes and we all opted for starters and main courses. My Tom Yum Soup was absolutely delicious - the best I've ever tasted and my husband's pakora was gorgeous. Main courses were just as good - we shared a chicken Jalfrezi and a lamb curry. Both really tasty and the nan bread was perfect! I can definitely see why this restaurant has all the awards. I think this is a gem that has to be tried by everyone who lives near to it - the table next to us had traveled down from Dundee for a day's shopping and a curry from Britannia Spice so those who are only a short drive away should take advantage!! Delicious!
