Sadly Expensive And Disappointing. Baked Brie Chee
Sadly expensive and disappointing. Baked Brie cheese was cold and returned. Second attempt was no better, however, we were not charged for the starter and apologies were given. £24+ for a fillet steak was expensive, however service was excellent and atmosphere cosy (upstairs).

This Is A Seriously Under-rated, Overlooked, Good
This is a seriously under-rated, overlooked, good food venue. The menu ranges from classic dishes to modern inventive ones, all perfectly executed and beautifully presented. No hint of designer portions or gut busting "eat all you can for tenner" platefuls, just sensibly balanced flavoursome dishes that leave you sad that the experience has come to an end. The service is perfect. A confident recommendation after six vists over the last two years.

Went For Christmas Do With Work, It Was Ok But Ver
Went for christmas do with work, it was ok but very expensive for what we got. the food was all in different plates, like chips were in a bowl and rest of food was on a plate so it wasnt very easy to eat. the service was great though, very intimate and you felt like you had a private waitress.

The Food Is Great! As Confirmed By Previous Review
The FOOD is GREAT! as confirmed by previous reviews. I must highlight this......after we paid bill, my elderly mum wanted a small drink just before leaving, as she gets really thirsty. The owner overheard this and offerred us ALL a FREE round of drinks. Great customer orientated place!
Great food, delicious and cooked to perfection at the appropriately named My GREAT Grandfathers! Can't really fault this place. Range of dishes... sufficient to keep us comming back for more. Friendly professional staff and good service even when busy. Nice choice of strength and flavours of ground coffee and comprehensive variety of soft drinks for the kids. Very clean bathrooms with wheelchair access for my disabled friend

Went In For Lunch With Elderly Mother, Who Has Sma
Went in for lunch with elderly mother, who has small appetite. Asked to take piece of chicken away, told not possible as they had been told by "Health and Safety" not to allow "doggy bags". We had paid for the food and were entitled to take it. No health risk if the food was good in the first place.
We have eaten at My Great Grandfathers Restaurant before with no problems. We were the only customers so it seems strange they didn't mind upsetting us. I have e mailed them for an explanation and await their reply.

My Great Grandfathers Restaurant Is A Fantastic Li
My Great Grandfathers Restaurant is a fantastic little gem of a place, sort of tucked away in the little Medieval historic market town of Tewkesbury! Warning: please don't get put off by the prices! At first glance you may think the prices are a bit over average. Don't walk away - go in, you won't regret it! This place has quality written all over it and the portions are massive. We had Thai fishcakes to start... made with fresh lobster and salmon and crab and a wonderful hot chilli, sweet, tasty sauce. That in itself was like a main meal! I had just left enough room for the Braised Lamb Shank and my boyfriend scoffed down the Tournedos Rossellini fillet steak. He must have enjoyed it 'cos he mopped up the sauce afterwards with some freshly baked rolls they provided. I had no room for anything else, but my human dustbin companion managed to squeeze in a Knickerbocker Glory (normal people would wish to share this feast).
I still frequently visit My Great Grandfathers and have never had a bad meal I strongly suggest you pay them a visit as soon as possible...you are sure to love it.
