Terrible Service
Visited the pub last night for dinner the actual food was ok but the service from start to finish was terrible!!!!!
All evening we had to ask for everything when they finally seated us and returned to take an order from us,you would be better off going somewhere else to try.

Rude Landlord
Pulled up at the Bathpool today in my car, parked up and was about to get picked up in a minibus to go collect a load of people to bring back to the pub for late morning drinks before going for a trip to Minehead and was gestured at by a man, who I think was the Landlord. Before even giving me a chance to explain what I was about to do he shouted 'that car will get clamped if you leave it there' I replied saying I was about to pick a load of people up to come here first before going out for the day but forget it!'. Very rude person. All he had to do was give me a chance to explain myself but was so offensive. We, and many of our friends and family went to this pub a lot, but we will not from now own. Very sad.

Wheat Free!!
Today was my first eperience of The Bathpool Inn, a party of 4 and a half (a very bubbly 18 month old!) of us arrived and being a coeliac I was fully epecting to have to dodge gravy, yorkshire pudding and other wheaty food stuffs! We hadnt booked and the pub was very busy; however we were greeted by friendly staff and seated within 2 minutes. On explaining to them that I can't eat wheat, provisions were instantly made and I was able to enjoy gravy on my roast! It was fantastic and I would highly recommend to anyone (coeliac or not!!). Thank you for a lovely Sunday!

Never Again....
While visiting family in Somerset we thought we would stop for a pub lunch something my husband and I both quite fancied. We arrived to a quiet pub "The Bathpool Inn" and thought it would be great as the staff would have time for us if it wasnt busy how wrong were we, we had to wait for the waitress to finish giggling away with the other staff before we got seated and when we got seated we were only offered the carvery whereas the other tables were given a menu – after basically being guilted into having the carvery we went up to get our food which again we had to wait while the person serving finished his conversation with a friend, we sat down to find the potatoes were rock solid and the meat dry and tough – the service was kind of “here you are…” put it down on the table noone asked how it was for us, the table next to us had complained before we sat down and informed us the food they had was terrible and hoped we had more luck -unfortunately we did not have any more luck than them – we finished quickly I left a full plate of food which the staff did not question. My husband went to pay and said we were disapointed to which the response was “Oh…. well thats £… then please”
I would not recommend and will certainly not be returning!
It doesnt take much to smile and keep an eye on the carvery food that had clearly been sat there far longer than it should have been.
Very similar experience, service is terrible food is either hard, cold or just terrible. very bad attitude from staff when complaint raised. will not go back again, the naval and military used to offer better service

There Was 9 Of Us Who Were Turned Away From Other
There was 9 of us who were turned away from other pubs on a saturday night as they were full. we phoned the bathpool who said they could take us, we were surprised as it was a saturday evening. We arrived to find 3 people in the bar and not that in the restaurant. We were seated in the lower part of the restaurant. We could not belive how cold it was in there so complained, only to have a small heater pt beside us which would of suited a small flat. we were freezing... When the food arrived all the meals were cold and not cooked as asked. We complained and the young girl looked vacant. 7 out of the meals were taken back and the other 2 could not be bothered to wait for another. We had a flippent attitude from the staff when they came back out with the food. It was better but still not worth the money. a wetherspoon meal is far better and far cheaper with much better service. on looking up the scores on the door award the pub did not even score one star and was almost shut down by the food standards people. I would say to anyone dont waste your money on rubbish. we certainly will not be returning.

I Have Organised A Meeting For 15-20 People Once A
I have organised a meeting for 15-20 people once a year for the past 3yrs & all my friends from around the country would recommend the Bathpool.
It is also where I take visiting family & friends & my daughter & son in law from Bucks chose it for a Valentines meal.
The staff are friendly & the food excellant. My only problem with the food is that being a pensioner with a small appetite I sometimes find I can't eat it all!
If you think you are waiting a while for your meal, remember that your food is cooked fresh & not sitting on a hot plate waiting for your order.
I am a retired caterer!

Went Here For A Family Lunch For My Niece's 21st B
Went here for a family lunch for my niece's 21st birthday. The staff were friendly and efficient and the carvery meal was excellent value for money. Lovely homely atmosphere and will definitely be going there again. Car park area needs tidying up and a covered smoking area would be good

We Visited The Bathpool Inn On Saturday 19th June
We visited the Bathpool Inn on Saturday 19th June 2010...for my Father-in-laws birthday treat (party of four).... we had been turned away from two pubs this evening already one due to just having a coach load party of people (The Monkton) saying they had done their 'covers' for the day and the other (Maypole) having no tables left at 7:30pm... so went in search of another place...The Bathpool what a mistake !
We really wish we hadn't bothered... when we arrived, we asked if they were still serving food (it was about eight pm)... Finally ordered after at least a 15min wait, placing starters, mains and our drinks order as well... but these took a further 15 mins, the starter took at least another 15 mins to get to us...!!! Then we were told that the main course Lamb wasn't available... so two of us had to re-order their mains...
You can see where all this is going... yes yet another 45 min wait for all the meals to arrive at the table only to find that the so called cod was like iron, the replacement steaks where anything but medium rare... all of us were pretty disappointed... even my father-in-law spoke up at his disgust... which is unusual for him... it spoilt what should have been a nice summers evening supposedly celebrating his birthday.... After trying to speak with the manager, who kept disappearing off, she asked what could they do for us well, we certainly didn't want anything else from the menu so reluctantly she took off the cost of two mains but even so, the final price was still pretty steep for the quality of food we had then only really good thing we can all say is that none of us went down with anything the young girl that served us really tried her best too !
Actually I suspect they wished that they had visited another pub.
Glad to see that thier low standards haven't slipped any lower though....
I think this person must have visited some other pub!

29th may 2010 - booked table at 7pm - was 7.45 before we got to make our order, our menus were both different ?? my menu was wisked away way before then as it was needed elsewhere? - ordered garlic mushrooms and prawn cockt for starters, jambalaya and pork loin for mains. waitress came back 10 mins later to ask if we had ordered garlic mush or pate ?? and the 5 mins later to say they did not serve pork loin despite it being on the menu ! finished starter then was asked if we wanted the dessert menu - not even been served main yet!! the jambalay came out and was given to my wife who was told it was lamb cutlets............ the lamb cutlets came out 10 mins later....... GOOD WAY TO RUIN OUR EVENING, THANKS GUYS..... will not be going again, its a shame because we used to go a lot but things have gone WAY down hill - sort it out guys.
Couldn't Agree more... read our experience... a real shame as it could be really nice if they ony sorted the place out...!
