We Were Tired After A Long, Hot Day Of Walking Aro
We were tired after a long, hot day of walking around a foreign city and we just wanted somewhere quiet and inexpensive (we'd splurged a bit the previous evening) for a light meal and a glass of wine. We found Bliss down a dark alley near the Passeig de Gracia Metro station. It's a tiny little cafe bar with half the place full of tables for diners and a set of 3 stairs down to an area with couches and cozy chairs. They also have a "terrace" in an adjacent square if you want to sit outside. The menu was mostly vegetarian, with a couple of meat dishes. the starters were lovely (we had hummous and pita bread), there was a range of salads, my husband had a chicken, apple and raisin salad which looked divine, and some heavier mains. I had a pesto dish with spaghetti and fresh tomatoes. We washed it down with a lovely bottle of rose and a couple of coffees. There were some scrumptious looking cakes in the glass case built into the counter, but we held back. The place was very subdued with mood lighting and unusual original art on the walls (all for sale) and our waitress was quick to make recommendations. It was just the subdued dining experience we needed.
