Since I Moved To Huddersfield, I Could Not Find An
Since I moved to Huddersfield, I could not find an Indian curry I liked at all.
Elahi Tandoori Restaurant and takeaway is the only one I will have. The food is freshly cooked to my liking, and when I ask for Chicken Tikka Massala, that is what I get; not like most in Huddersfield. When I have ordered in other places, my Chicken Tikka Masala was red hot and it has had peppers in it. They said they can't do it any milder.
The Restaurant owner is great, and the waiter is very helpful too. We have been having meals there since it opened, and we would not change for any other in Huddersfield.
Keep up the good work.

At Last I Have Found The Perfect Indian Restaurant
At last I have found the perfect Indian restaurant which has quality food to go with the outstanding service.
Everything that I tried at Elahi Tandoori in Huddersfield tasted 100% fresh.
The atmosphere was very cosy and friendly.
I know where I am going this year for our Christmas party.

My Review Of The Elahi Indian Tandoori, In Milnsbr
My review of the Elahi Indian tandoori, in Milnsbridge, Huddersfield.
This restaurant, quite simply, has to be the best in the area! The quality of food, the very reasonable cost, & the sheer choice of ORIGINAL dishes (sure-all the favourites are here but also lots of things that are DIFFERENT)just has to give this place a 'thumbs up'!
This restaurant is only 200m from the well established Bombay Tandoori, which has for many years had a loyal following, the food being very good, cheap, if unimaginative in the choices, with reasonable customer service but decor that's a little 'faded'.
So a brave move indeed to go 'head to head' with this restaurant!
Ok...the food! Quite simply-SUPERB. I probably have every Indian Cook book under the sun (& every spice in my cupboard!) &, if I'm honest, am 'picky' with any Indian dish!
I had the lamb puree for a starter-delicious small slices of lamb in a hot/sour sauce with fried onions & peppers & fresh coriander & tomatoes, served on a freshly cooked puree bread-delicious & beautifully presented. My other 1/2 had a sheek kebab-the meat was double minced & 'melt-in the mouth'-with a subtle but spicy flavour completely removed from the standard 'restaurant' kebab taste.
For main course I had the Sag lamb...this is Lamb (or chicken) with spinach & garlic & home cooked spices-again the flavour being far, far superior to your standard restaurant curry. A lovely 'smoky garlic flavour to it-which, I was informed by the staff, is due to a 'tarka' (this being a final fry of garlic & spices until brown & added at the last minute)...absolutely fantastic-a world away from standard restaurant fare.
my other 1/2 had the tandoori shashilick-a massive 'sizzler' dish full of tandoori cooked chicken with peppers, onions, tomatoes & coriander-enough for 2! Again-spicy but not too hot & certainly a step up from the 'norm'. She had lemon rice with it & I was greedy & had a chilli naan-freshly baked & light (could not eat it all!!). I also had a yogurt raita on the side as a 'cooler' as I like my dishes hot. The lamb special I had came with 3 free chapattis so the Naan was pure extravagance (!).
The whole bill was £19...superb value. The place is not licensed so bring your own! The atmosphere is great as it's a small venue-maybe seating 20/30 people? Service is friendly but discreet - the staff are very nice & SMILE (other places take note).
What set's this place apart from it's rivals is the choices-about 20 types of rice (not just your standard plain or pilau), imaginative menu, TWELVE types of fresh naan bread (all under 2 quid!) & some wonderful chef's specialities. They offer a 'special' on Sunday nights/Thursday nights of 4 courses for £6-95-unbelievable value! Now I know a lot of locals have their 'Saturday night & curry house' habits-but do try this place-it really is superb.
