Mumbai Restaurant Wakefield

I am a regular customer at Mumbai and I don't normally engage in reviews, however, I felt compelled to review this one. I am impressed with the ambience and the staff are always polite, efficient and friendly. The manager is always courteous and welcoming. The food is second to none and I can't rate this highly enough. There is always a good atmosphere and I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.

I am a regular customer at Mumbai, and have just been looking at some of the reviews I find it very hard to beleive what certain customers are saying. It makes you wonder if they are competitors! I always have fantastic food and the staff are always amazing, helpful and polite. In all the times I have eaten at Mumbai I have never seen any other customers complain or look unhappy. I recommend the place to all my friends and family and we all enjoy visiting Mumbai, keep up the good work.

Outastanding service. We were in there for my friends 21st Birthday. The waiters went above and beyond service, in every way possible. The manager was outstanding and so very polite. Serving the birthday girl personally both with food and drinks orders. On a whole the experience was above and beyond all expectation and the staff went the extra mile for the special occasion. The food was cooked to perfection and all 12 of our party were amazed by the service. A return to this restaurant will be a definate.

Fantastic place to eat in or take out. Truely fantastic

i am an Asian guy and i love Indian food.some friends of mine recommended to go to Mumbai restaurant in Wakefield.i went with my family and we were truly impressed.the service was excellent, staff was so friendly and when we got our food it was fantastic.it tasted like home food. everything was nice.we had a wonderful evening and i will go there again and i recommend people to go there.its worth spending your money.

poor microwaved food- poor slow service- many other better places in wakefield to eat as earlier person said

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

This was the first time we had eaten at Mumbai and thankfully the last, We were sat at a table next to the dirty stairs and presented with a menu with mold growing on it. The one and only waiter took our order. Just after we had ordered the only other couple in the place were complaining about the quality of the food. When our starters came items were missing from what was stated on the menu, we waited for the one and only waiter to re appear again to pull him about this, when he arrived all we could smell was cigarette smoke( guess he was outside having a fag) The main course followed shortly and the quality was very poor (better food out of a jar from the supermarket). We have eaten at all the main indian's in Wakefield and this is by far the worst we have eaten at, would even go as far as saying the worst indian food we have ever had. Don't waste your money, eat somewhere else.

I got to Mumbai a few times a month, dining with friends & family while also visiting with clients.

The food is always of a very high standard, you can tell the food is made fresh. A lot of indian food gives me heart-burn, but never from when I eat here. The dishes are always very tasty.

The Staff are always very frinedly, as is the manager who is always more than willing to take the time out to talk to customers.

The restaurant is very clean & smart & there is some fantastic dishes on the menu.

I had been to the Mumbai twice before. On both occasions I'd had an excellent meal and was very satisfied with the service and the price. Last night however it was far from satisfactory.

We were shown to a table and got some popadoms more or less straight away and then we sat there twiddling our thumbs. Eventually I called the waiter over and asked if we were going to get our starters. Starters came but the plates used for the popadoms were never cleared away. Main course arrived and still the plates sat there. Main course was pretty poor. Chapattis had been left to dry out and were more like popadoms. Prawns were tough as old boots as was most of the other food served up. We complained and spoke to the manager. Very nice chap who listened to our comments and gave us a discount card for our next meal. Will I be using the card? Unlikely
