Wow, I Just Watched True Romance Over The Weekend
Wow, I just watched True Romance over the weekend and I thought this film rocked the party out.
Gratuitous violence? Check. Star studded line-up and cameo's? Check. Quick as a hiccup dialogue? Check. This film is brutal but very enjoyable and what a cast!
Christian Slater is bit of a drop out as Clarence, he works in a comic book store and is an Elvis worshipper. Patricia Arquette is paid to seduce him as a birthday gift from his boss. However, Arquette's character, Alabama, has only been on the game for four days and falls for Clarence.
However, when Clarence goes to sort collect Alabama's belongings from her Rasta wannabe pimp (Gary Oldman), all hell breaks loose. Before we know it Clarence has got himself a suitcase full of crack and is on the run with Alabama. Their mission to sell the drugs and get outta town.
It'a a great story as we see the mob and the cops trailing the pair in a bid to get their hands on the stash. The shootout at the end is also vintage.
Make sure you don't miss cracking appearances from Dennis Hopper (as Clarence's dad), Christopher Walken (gangland boss) and many more famous faces including James Gandolfini (no-one does deranged mobster quite like this man), Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Penn and Val Kilmer.
This film is well worth watching - but remember, it is very violent and fairly gruesome at times so beware if your a bit of a wuss.
