Hocus Pocus Is A Fantastic Family Film, That I Fir
Hocus Pocus is a fantastic family film, that I first enjoyed when I was a child. Apart from finding the witches a little scary, they are humourous and each bestow a different characteristic which I believe brings the film to life. The three witches are made up of Winnie (Middler), Sarah (Parker)and Mary (Najimy) who are bought back to life by a modern day boy called max. They set out to suck the lives from children in order to make themselves younger, but their plan is cut short when Max and co. intervene.
Max has a few problems of his own with settling into a new school and making friends. Along with his new friend Alison and his sister Deny, they set out to destroy the witches.
Hocus Pocus is light-hearted and can be enjoyed time after time. It is definately a film that I would watch again and again and watch with my own children in the future. It may not be to everyone's tatse, but should definately be given a chance.

Hocus Pocus - I Like This Movie Overall And A Chil
Hocus Pocus - I like this movie overall and a child would love it though they may not get a thing or two. The 3 sister witches were funny and I love all of the actresses. They did a great job in bringing their parts to life.
The movie is about 3 witches who were put to death for, of course, being witches and for killing a little girl for eternal youth and turning her brother into a cat that lives forever.
Max, the main character of the movie, moves into the town where the witches lived. The witches' house was turned into a museum. He met a girl at school, I think her name was Sarah, but I'm not sure if that's right. Sarah takes Max and his sister Danny to the witch's house on Halloween night.
The rumor was that a virgin had to light the candle and the sisters would return. So Max of course lights it. (very predictable)
The sisters come to life and try to go after the 3 kids, to get their magic book back and so that they make the potion that they needed what would help them suck souls from kids for eternal youth. The cat, Binks, helps Max, Sarah, and Danny through the somewhat funny adventure.
The teenage boy (Max) did an O.K. job. Could've been better. He had a few funny things going. The girl that acted as his sister was horrible. I didn't like her and she wasn't too funny for me. I wish the cat (Binks) would've just died already.
I would have to say that my favorite character was the zombie, Billy. He was great.
If a child wants to watch something good for Halloween, but they don't want to be scared to death, but just to laugh, then I suggest this movie (not for young kiddies though...). It's worth watching once a year on T.V. Watch it more than that, and I promise you, a headache will arrive.
