Amelie

This film is a very fun and whimsical one. The colors and visuals of this film are also very whimsical. We see paintings and photographs talking to the characters, telling them what they should do. We see green, red, and yellow themed interiors and atmospheres throughout the film, which gives it a very warm feeling.

Any movie with Audrey Tautou as main actress or directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet puts GREEN lights on for me! "Go and get that movie". And every time I have watched, I am never sorry! Always great movies! Always better than I expect! And these movies always remain in my top favorites and most watched! I liked the humor in this movie - Audrey plays her role extremely well, where Amelie is an innocent young girl, with hidden, quirky hobbies and love for people. I was surprised by the story line - which is very fun to follow. Her co-star: Mathieu Kassovitz is adorable in his role! Innocent and cute!! There is nothing about this movie that I did not like. I even got the soundtrack! If you are looking for a cute romantic movie, that will put hope back into your heart - get this!!

Amelie is not the typical french film. Neither is it the clasical Hollywood plot.

Not only did the plot catch my attention but also the way it was filmed.

In my opinion it is a very artistic movie because the scenes have very particular shots, great soundatrack and colors.

Another thing which really amazed me, was Amelie's personality, starting with her childhood story, attitude and the way she looked.

This film is not new at all and I strongly think that it was very influencial in fashion because after this film a lot of girls cut their hair like Amelie's hairstyle.

This film combines love,sarcasnm ,sadness, beauty and comedy at the same time! The perfect ingredients to make an amazing film.

Amelie is a great film - extremely tender and very witty.

Im not usually into French film if I'm honest, but this is a cracker.

Its beatifully acted and extremely well written - its one of those films where all the important ingredients that make an exceptional film have all come together in one package.

Its certainly not an action packed thriller or anything like that - its a real Sunday afternoon film with the fire on whilst its raining outside!

If you're not really a French film buff but you fancy something a little different from the standard unimaginative Hollywood blockbuster, this is a film definitely worthy of your attention.

OK! Maybe I'm singing the praises of this film a little too loudly. However, it is important that compensation is made for the previous review, which despite being worded beautifully; lacked any insight. Amelie is a light hearted film. For all those who want a more dramatic ending, go and and watch a Jacobean revenge tragedy and cry yourself to sleep.

While being on the surface a light-hearted and charming film, Amelie will also evoke very powerful emotions for anybody who has ever found themselves socially isolated within society. There are only a few things wrong with this otherwise remarkable film - firstly, its lengthy duration, which is the result of poor editing - there are too many story threads that are extraneous to the overall plot. Secondly, the build up to the finale leaves the audience expecting some sort of coup de grace, but sticking to its light-hearted comedic roots, the film instead opts for an ending which seems to be a bit of a cop-out.

That said, the film overall is excellent, and without the cop-out ending could easily have been one of the best films of all-time. Definitely recommended viewing.
