We Saw The Show In Brighton And As Per Usual Lee D
We saw the show in Brighton and as per usual Lee did not let us down, I think just about everybody had a nerve touched by the various observations he made about couples and it was great to see all ages there enjoying the show.
I worked some years ago with Lee's Dad Dave Evans and I met Lee at the time as he was starting out and so to see him now after a lot of hard work to acheive the level he has reached is a worthy reward.
If you've seen Lee before or it's your first time don't arrange a lot for the following day as you'll need a massage to stop your sides splitting and everything else aching from laughing so much and that's a promise.
As I say Lee Evans is a one off and long may he stay that way.

We Waited 9 Months To See Him Perform At Wembley A
We waited 9 months to see him perform at Wembley Arena and he did not disappoint us! The Big 2008 tour is excellent and not to be missed. Lee has new material and still focuses on every day occurences, which makes it more appealing to the everyday folk. I was surprised to see him make quite a political point at the end of the show (the song is policitical satire at its best) and has subtitles so you could fully get the gist of what he is saying. He is obviously just as dismayed as the rest of us in this country with what is happening and here and around the world. Bohemian Rhapsody was absolutely hysterical and I feel sorry for the people who left early (obviously wanting to avoid sitting in traffic). All I can say is I am glad I stayed and thought "Sod the traffic!" My cheeks are still aching this morning with thinking about his jokes and it makes me wonder where he gets his energy from. His set lasted 3 hours with a 20 minute break in the middle, although I am sure it was not meant to go on that long and I think he got carried away with the response from the audience and stayed on longer than he needed to. I can't wait for the DVD to come out to experience the whole thing over again. Catch him while you can!

I Went To See Lee Evans Last Night And I Am Still
I went to see Lee Evans last night and I am still laughing. He had the whole of the O2 laughing from the minute he came on to the minute he finished. The best bit was the Bohemian Rhapsody - a pleasant surprise for audience who did not leave before the end. Excellent, well worth all the money spent and the 6month wait.

Myself And My Husband Were Lucky Enough To Get To
Myself and my husband were lucky enough to get to see Lee Evans at the M.E.N. Arena in Manchester on Saturday the 19th of November 2005 as part of his XL Tour. What a fantastic evening!! He did not once fail to capture the audience's imagination with his charm and wit.
He was on stage for 2 hours with one 15 minute break, and he dealt amicably with the one or two audience members who were constantly shouting at him to do his Bohemian Rhapsody sketch. His response was "I can't hear you, call me later". As always Lee never fails to wow his fans, and he even accommodated the few who kept shouting by performing his famous Bohemian Rhapsody sketch at the end of the show, which was absolutely fantastic. The show contained many puns about Manchester culture, such as football, which pleased the male members of the audience. It was as though he had written the show specifically for the Manchester audience, but it came across in a hysterically impromptu manner. His various Northern accents were spot on, and he portrayed the characteristics and psychology of the stereotypical Mancunian perfectly.
His brand of slap-stick comedy always has the nation in hysterics. He has successfully established himself as a well respected International comedian, with his feet remaining firmly on the ground and still coming across as the boy next door done good. I have to admit that I am very picky when it comes to comedians, and I don't always get the sense of humour, but Lee Evans manages to portray everyday life in a hysterically funny way. His repertoire on the XL tour was excellent, and the show was exceedingly well written and produced, with gags such as his wife collecting pebbles and always buying candles, and then complaining about the depleting planet and ozone layer. How women love romance, and how they expect men to still feel romantic when they end up sitting at the tap end of the bath, while the women recline comfortably in the lounge position. The joke about London hosting the Olympic Games in the East End, and how when the builders move in to start the work, all the London gangsters will start panicking in case anything is dug up, left not a dry eye in the Arena. As always he managed to take everyday events and deliver them in the most uproarious way.
Lee Evans has come a long way since his talent was discovered at the Edinburgh festival in 1988. He then went on to make his film debut in Funny Bones, and he has also starred in Movies such as Mouse Hunt, and There's Something About Mary in 1998 alongside Cameron Diaz, Matt Dillon and Ben Stiller. In 2004 he also played the leading role in the psychological thriller Freeze Frame, where he plays a paranoid man who keeps himself under surveillance, and is then accused of murder.
The XL Tour Live 2005 DVD is released on the 28th of November 2005, and if the show is anything to go by then I think this will be a massive hit with Lee Evans fans worldwide. Obviously the DVD won't contain all the Manchester gags as it is aimed at a much wider audience.
Lee will also be starring in two new movies in the coming year. One is Jester Hill which is an animated movie, where he will provide the voice of Jester. The other is Plots With A View, which is a comedy starring Christopher Walken (star of Pulp Fiction and The Prophecy, to name but a few), and Brenda Blethyn (One of my favourite British actresses).
Lee Evans is without a doubt a British icon, and was already high enough in my estimations of him before, but he more than excelled my expectations on the XL tour.
