Rod Stewart Band Too Loud
Have been a Rod Stewart fan since the beginning and now in my 60s had the chance to see him for the first time. Attended on 26 February at the O2 concert postponed from November. Being a novice at event booking I had managed to pay over £360 for two face value £75 tickets from Viagogo so naturally expectations were high.
I have to say we were very disappointed as his voice was drowned out by the band on all the fast songs....he does still have a good voice which was evidenced during the section where he sat with a few band members and reprised a few ballards.
He gave a good length set of nearly two hours (band/backing singers had a few opportunities to do their stuff without him while he made three costume changes) but overall we came away underwhelmed I am sorry to say.
I am no expert but surely in this day and age there is no reason for this to be the case.

I would highly recommend double 8 to buy your tickets as we have used them 3 -4 times now, and they have always been fantastic.

Good Concert - Tight Time On Tickets
The Rod Stewart concert at O2 was good and Rod was on good form. The tickets were in a good position ad it did not feel that we were ripped off or paying too high a rate of commission. However Double 8 only sent out the tickets by recorded delivery less than a week before - which was nerve racking! I also had to give them a different address to deliver them to. I had to make lots of phone calls to chase. At every stage the staff were helpful and re-assuring and they did finally arrive!

Painful To Listen To!
What a let down! I've been to see Rod many, many times and his concerts have always been brilliant. But on this occasion, the sound system was woefully inadequate. It was so distorted, it was obvious they were having to run everything at max in order to get the levels needed for a football stadium. I don't know whether this was penny-pinching due to lack of ticket sales, or whether the PA company was to blame. Either way, it was literally painful to listen to.
At times, it was difficult to work out which song he was singing. Even when he was just speaking, it was impossible to understand what he was saying.
We left after just half an hour, as we couldn't bear to listen to any more. What a waste of £180! We won't be going again.
