Not A New Discovery, But Familiar Sounds Feel Just Right
Daft Punk needs no introduction, so let's get right to the album shall we?
It's different. Different from what I expected. Different from what you expected. Even different from what Daft Punk expected I bet.
But that's what makes it great.
Once you get past that it's not a pure dance album like Discovery was, you'll really see that each song was lovingly crafted by the masters of electronic music. The album itself is very chill, with many songs having a disco-funk vibe to them that can only be described as both fresh and retro at the same time. In today's EDM scene, everything is repetitive and soulless, but Random Access brings the soul back into music.
Songs like 'Get Lucky' and 'Doin' it Right' will no doubt accrue mainstream popularity, while epics like 'Touch' and 'Contact' will be appreciated by music afficionados. There's something here for everyone, as long as they realize that this album isn't made for the mosh pit, but rather for that smooth dance floor.
