All The Songs Are Great. He Has His Purest Flows I
All the songs are great. He has his purest flows in his whole career in this, his first album. The songs are catchy and highly listenable but there are only 10 tracks so it is a short album. I would definatley recommend this c.d. as Nas best c.d. N.y. State Of Mind, Who's World Is This, And One Love are classics.

Illmatic Is A Good Album But Its Not His Best. It
Illmatic is a good album but its not his best. It is a very good debut album and even though it only has ten tracks its still a fantastic album. He goes for quality not quantity in this and if you hear this you will be amazed by his lyrics. The world is yours is a quality track.
Hiphopmasta are you serious? Illmaticis Nas's best album, even Jay-z said Nas never made anything as good as his debut. Jay said this when they were beefin. Illmatic influenced Jay-z, Biggie, Fabolous, Game, Eminem, Lloyd Banks...want me to keep going? When this came out dudes called Nas the second coming of Rakim man. Get some info before you write a review about something you don't know about.
illmatic is without a doubt nas' best album. to even suggest any of his other work as better confuses me. what album of his was better? it was written? stillmatic? the fact is, nas was never harder than he was here, and even he admittedly has said that he still hasn't replicated this album at any other career point. Masta, stick to your cross-seas rap music and learn to appreciate the classic old-school grime and flow that illmatic so enjoyably perfects
i think illmatic is nas' best album, i would want to know which album the masta reckons to be better

Nas, Illmatic - Although There Are Only 9 Full Son
Nas, Illmatic - Although there are only 9 full songs, Nas takes you on a trip into Queensbridge, giving tales of the ghetto. It starts out with basically what New York is about, then he talks about how he sees life and the streets and also himself as an MC.

Nas, Illmatic Is A Hip-hop Classic. Every Track I
Nas, Illmatic is a hip-hop classic. Every track is perfectly written and produced and Nas puts across his opinions and emotions crystal-clear. The high points of the album are NY State of Mind, Halftime and It Ain't Hard to Tell.

Apart from the intro every track on Illmatic is a classic in itself but for me 'N.Y state of mind', 'Halftime', and 'The World Is Yours' stand out.

One Word Explains This Album, Brilliant. All The W
one word explains this album, brilliant. All the way through, this album delievers. N.Y. state of mind. Lifes a B***h. One Love. The world is yours. The latter drops lines like
"I need a new n***a for this black cloud to follow/ Cuz while it's over me it's too dark to see tomorrow." He might as well wrote those lyrics in blood, theres so much emotion poured in them. Another gem is Memory Lane. "One for the money, two for the pussy and foreign cars/ three for Alize, homies deceased or behind bars. Nas sent MC's back to the drawing board with this album. If one person say this CD aint a 10/10, KRS One and Africa Bambataa need to ban them from hip hop, fo' real.
respect!!!
