Exactly What You Want
After 8 years of not being in the mood to play guitar again the bug bit me and immediatly went onto the ibanez website in search of the most metal guitar they had.So i came across the ibanez mtm1 2010 edition. It has the most metal pickups of their whole range and of coarse was designed by mick thomson himself.I waited 7 months for the guitar to come but when i got it...wow!what a solid metal machine! The build quality is excelent!and combined with my mesa boogie dual rectifier multi watt it sounds heavy!i only play death metal and tuned to Drop A its perfect. If your into death metal then this is the tone for you!I dont have any negative things to say about it coz im very satisfied with it period.Ibanez is quality end of story

When I First Saw The New Ibanez Mtm1 Mick Thomson
When i first saw the new Ibanez MTM1 Mick Thomson signature guitar i just had to get it and im damn glad i did. Being a huge slipknot fan and an avid guitarist in the market for a high end quality guitar, it made perfect sense to buy one. When i got to the guitar shop i bought it from and pulled it out of the box i was instantly glad i bought it. I had a play through a Soldano and after 2 hours of playing i still didnt wanna put it down. The factory action was quite high (but still was easy to play) so i took it to my mate who is a guitar mechanic and got it set up and it now has one of the best actions ive ever played on.
Tonewise, the EMG 81 bridge and EMG 60 neck pickups really deliver. Played through a tube amp they have that roar that metal music needs to sound brutal. It comes factory loaded with 11-54 gauge strings set in Drop B (B F# B E G# C# tuning) which conveniently is the same gauge as the Ernie Ball Beefy Slinky string i use. The colour scheme is great being blood red with black binding and S E V E N on the fretboard really makes you stop-n-stare at it.
All in all im extremely, extremely impressed with every aspect of the guitar. Craftsmenship (made in korea), playability, eye candy, tone, its all there, Id give it a 6 out of 5 if i could!. The ONLY reason im giving this guitar a 4 for value is seein it was $2500 aussie dollars it was super expensive and lets face it no guitars are worth what the msrp is. Having said that, after 3 years of owning it replacing strings every 2 months or so, i love it just as much as the day i bought it. It is the best 2500 dollars i have and more than likely will ever spend. If you're thinking of buying a metal guitar SERIOUSLY consider this option
