Value For Money

Terrible, Unprofessional Company

We had a very friendly agent from PB attend to do our initial valuation, rope us in and from there everything went downhill.

We were handed over to another agent to handle our case, and another agent again to do viewings which we paid £700 extra for. 3 months in we had heard NOTHING from PB, despite seeing on the app that 3 or 4 parties had expressed interest. I contacted our case manager who, after a few moments, informed me that the agent who was supposed to be doing our viewings did not work for the company any more. Even worse, our case manager was not even aware he had left the company.

This means all viewing requests were going to an empty inbox and were unanswered. This caused a significant delay to our sale. We submitted a complaint but have not had a response.

Overall, terrible service, a waste of money and shocking disorganisation from Purple Bricks and I would strongly advise everyone to stay as far as possible away.

Do Not Use Purple Bricks Or Strike

Do not use purple bricks or Strike in Birmingham or Solihull. Difficult to get hold of the agent, not particularly helpful, Did not suggest strategies so did not feel like I was dealing with an experienced proper agent. Did not call back potential buyers.

After sales, can't be bothered to return calls. Buyers pulled out of potential house sales 3 times because they found purple bricks and the conveying company was very poor. Waste of the best part of 2k. Worst estate agent I have used. They did not make enough effort to sell my house and after 10 months they now demand payment even though they advertised their services as “no sale, no payment”. Although the buyers pulled out of their house sale, they are claiming that the house did sell and the “no sale, no payment” offer no longer applies.

The app has lots of glitches so it is difficult to arrange viewings properly. People who view do not use the app either so it is challenging to rearrange times.

Better to have a proper estate agent or someone who is at least competent and knows what they are doing.

Do not use purple bricks or Strike in Birmingham or Solihull

Purplebricks This Below Is Just The Tip Of The Ice

Purplebricks

This below is just the tip of the iceberg and a small fraction of the mistakes and problems caused by purplebricks.

I have been using them as a letting agent, but I'm in the process of leaving them, whilst in the process of leaving them which is difficult, I was recommended to change from fully managed to just rent collection, the first monthly statement I got was all wrong the only thing they got right was the date, they got the % for their fee's wrong and charged a higher rate, they kept a large part of the monthly rent for an account float, just after I was told that they wouldn't be doing that, they made a deduction for an invoice from 2 month's ago, I never received an invoice, I have never heard of the contractor's, they never went to my property, they never did any work.

When you rightfully complain, then you are completely ghosted, no replies to emails or messages, it's like you don't exist!

They are changing staff constantly and they don't tell you that your property manager has gone, so you continue to email a non existent employee, they are ignorant, unprofessional and totally useless.

They ignore the tenant and the landlord, they ignore emails and phone messages.

My tenant was left without heating and hot water for nearly 3 months, they were also left without lighting on the stairs (very dangerous) because purplebricks didn't do anything after the tenant reported it to them, they didn't even tell me, fully managed agreement was that purplebricks would visit the property every 6 months and send me a report with pictures and details of any damages etc, but in nearly 3 years they went once and didn't even send me a report until I asked, it's not always a bad landlord the letting agent's are to blame too.

They send out contractors who overcharge, because they are purplebricks gets huge kickbacks?? Both ways are very bad.

If I wasn't vigilant I would have been overcharged £3,000 in one year, which is most of the yearly rental.

I wouldn't recommend them.

Perhaps it's:- you pay peanuts you get monkey's, that's why the staff really don't care.

DO NOT USE purplebricks

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Experienced exactly the same on my let. Overcharging for simple replacements. No 6 month checks. Incorrect invoices and non existent customer service . Never use them as agents.

Alekos Kleanthous Outstanding

Alekos is outstanding. Most properties in my road used Winkworths or other local agents but 7 offers later & a final sale price that Barclays mortgage had to double check as it was so high it was without precedent is testimony in itself.

With over 20 years experience , integrity & vision it felt like having a member of the SAS by your side . I was in a chain of 4 & whatever obstacles came , he was always at the front finding the way through - even my lawyer , a partner , liked him .

He’ll probably move onto greater things soon but if you’re lucky enough to be under his wing in London in any way know you’ll be looked after

Terrible Company

Our house has been put on the market with purple bricks. We have numerous potential buyers turning up for viewing which we had no idea about then the agent from purple bricks don't even bother showing up. They cancel viewing without communicating it to us so our whole day is wasted waiting. Numerous potential buyers approach us for viewing indipendently as they find it a nightmare trying to book viewings through purple bricks, they are told that only particular days are available even though we are available for viewing every day. Purple bricks don't care about your house getting sold, they will get paid anyway. Service is substandard, unprofessional staff, they are always busy when you call and they never return calls. I wish I did more research before approaching them. They don't deserve any stars, they only want your property on their list to collect dust and cobwebs. Save yourself the hassle and find a company that is serious unlike purple bricks, don't even turn up for viewing and can't be bothered to give potential buyers a choice of days to view your property for God knows what reasons because their agents don't need to be there. They are a total waste of time.

Awful Awful Awul

Thank god I didn't sell through them, as trying to view properties with them is impossible, they cancel the times you enter in the diary then when you call and ask to rebook or for a call back they never do two weeks later and im forced to drive to the property to speak to the vendor as I cant get to view after 3 phone calls and three diary entries being deleted or cancelled.

Totally Incompetent And Unprofessional

Unfortunately, they do not deserve any stars - I would give them a negative number if I could. Every person I dealt with is totally incompetent and I wonder even if they are even qualified solicitors. They email, text and phone constantly asking for the same info over and over again, despite the fact they have already had this information. They then hold your money once the sale has gone through unless you give them yet more money so it will be paid into your account on the day of the sale. They do absolutely nothing except cause mayhem - you get what you pay for. I will never ever use them again...lesson learnt!

Bad Beyond Belief !

Good God these people are the lowest of the low, please read before you consider using them. We put our home on the market through them placed an offer on another house. We live in Cambridge and houses here sell fast. They cocked up the whole thing, the agent went off sick for two weeks and they ignored all our attempts at contact. They do not answer the phone they are a complete nightmare. We lost the house we wanted because they are so incompitent. They dont know the local market and they dont know their backside from their elbow.

Lettings Management Service - Terrible Service

I am letting my flat with purplebricks as full a full managing agent. The service I have received is extremely poor. Main issues:

1/ I receive emails from perhaps 10 different purplebricks contacts over the year meaning I have no idea who I should be contacting if I have any issues

2/ Communication is slow and my queries are often ignored, unless I chase or make specific requests I get no information from them. Completely not proactive.

3/Their contractor's are unbelievably expensive and often charge just for an initial quote. One would think that using such a large agency would bring savings for landlords. This value is obviously kept by purplebricks not passed through. They are likely to have a generous margin for themselves as well I assume.

4/ I have not received any financial statements which I am meant to. I've had to remind them 3 separate occasions about this and still don't receive them.

5/ There is no active management when changing tenants, this has left me covering a whole month of mortgage payments while the flat remained empty.

AVOID THIS AGENCY AT ALL COSTS.

I have also just taken them on (I am a landlord) and are not having a very positive experience. The inventory carried out by them stated the apt was cleaned to a professional standard, the tenant when they moved the sofa discovered some tissues and some dust. My local agent (based in Birmingham and not Mcr where the apt is) called a company (based in Somerset) who charged £200+vat (£240) for 1 person to hoover under a sofa. The 1 person was in the apt for no longer than 1.5 hours.

I have been disputing this cost for the last month but they have just deducted it from my monthly statement. And despite assurances that it is being reviewed by senior management it isn't. I shall be cancelling my agreement with them as soon as possible however I am stuck with them for a further 11 months. I have used other companies and they are by far the worse and not much cheaper.

"diabolical" Do Not Use Their Solicitors

I sold my property to a first time buyer 8 weeks ago. Everything has been in order for 3 weeks and the solicitors just keep dragging it out.

Its not a personal service, the solicitors are always busy and you have to wait for a call back all the time. The Service is terrible.. Always use a local solicitor, it may cost more but it is worth it in the end as it is very stressful using theirs.

They are not worth a 1 Star rating, More like a minus 10 star if it was available.
