Emergency Cover Is "selective"
I will NEVER recommend VUMI to anyone. We insured half our staff with them and not ONE case went without issues. They refused to pay direct billing even when the hospital was on their list. Even in the emergency room, employees had to fight over the phone long distance to STILL be told to pay and claim a reimbursement.
Reimbursements take between 15 - 20 WORKING DAYS. Not an insurance company.
I advise anyone - Not having insurance is better than paying them.

Do Not Settle Claims
After insuring with them for 2 years, I recently filed a valid claim of $66 with VUMI and they failed to settle under the false pretense that it was pre-existing condition knowing fully well that it was not the case. When I challenged, I was simply told that I can cancel if I want.

Hassle Free Insurance
On the recommendation of an intermediary my family switched to Vumi last year. The few times we have contacted them they have been very responsive to our concerns. My son had a medical situation while on holiday and they took care of all matters promptly and paid the hospital in full. They even telephoned during and after the hospital stay to inquire as to how he was doing.
Everything has been handled brillantly and we can't recommend this coverage enough.

Very Happy With The Coverage
A colleague recommended Vumi to me after we both had bad luck with another carrier. I am very happy with the policy and all claims have been paid. In today’s world of having to haggle with your insurance company it’s a breath of fresh air to find one that pays when they should.
You should be kind enough to mention the 'other' insurance carrier by name... Maybe an example of haggling.... As I am considering changing from an unused Bupa plan to Vumi, I don't have negative experience, I have no experience...

Great Company
I recently switched insurance companies to Vumi and couldn’t be happier. The policies are affordable and claims are paid efficiently. My wife recently underwent a surgery at a hospital in Mexico and Vumi took care of all the arrangements, and settled directly with the hospital.
