Poor Quality, Failed On Second Outing Within 1 Year
I bought this 'own brand' Wickes 9" angle grinder thinking that being own-brand, that they would stand behind it.
That was a mistake. The grinder failed after its second outing.
Here is the rub: Wickes do not even know who made the grinder for them! Yes seriously, and this comment below is coming from the Customer care team verbatim:
"I am sorry that we were not able to provide you with the manufacturers details as this is a Wickes own brand product."
So there you have it. If it fails, you cannot get it repaired because Wickes does not even know who they bought it from. That is fairly inept. Wickes, if you don't know the origin of your products then don't sell them, particularly dangerous equipment such as a 9" grinder.
My advice, stick to a well-known brand with a proper warranty. Particularly so given this grinder was the same price as a better brand.

I Like It
I like this grinder. Some people find it little bit noisy, but I like it.

This Angle Grinder From Wickes Is Very Good.
This angle grinder from Wickes is very good.
I used it to create a patio, where I needed to cut some thick paving slabs at an angle to create an edge. It was very good and cut through the slabs very well.
The only thing Id mark it down on is weight. It was very heavy to use and you wouldn't want to be using it for too long without a break as your arms get very sore!
Its pretty noisy too, but I think that's just unavoidable when you're cutting through concrete.
The discs were very easy to get in and out of the machine which is important - and overall Id say this was a really good purchase.
