Nestle Caramac

After Nestle discontinued Caramac I was pleasantly surprised when they announced it was coming back for a limited time however, the new bars taste nothing like the old bars. They taste the same as the Caramac buttons launched a few years ago. The texture is very different and feels more ‘greasy’ with a different melt in the mouth texture as the previous Caramac bars were slightly grainy which might sound strange but it melted in your mouth completely different to the new bars. The flavour is also milder with a lesser dose of caramel when you first bite into it.

As a Caramac lover of over 50 years I’m sad to say I won’t be buying any of the new bars or buttons.

After hearing that Caramac was to be discontinued, I wept. I'm 50. The only thing I could do was hope for a final bar or two for Christmas...thankfully the elves were kind. OR SO I THOUGHT!! Ok, it's been a long time between Caramac bars but what the HELL passed my lips a few days ago...for it was not Caramac?! Gritty. Sweet. Tasteless. All common themes in these reviews and deservedly so. It was awful. I'll be crowd sourcing some investment to recreate the original...or so help me God... This is exactly why people fear change. It was an abomination.

I am old enough to know what caramac used to taste like ,when I see Nestle have taken over a product I stop buying it

If you’d asked me what my favourite chocolate bar was earlier today, I would’ve said Caramac… Well not anymore. I walked to my local mini market to collect a parcel and fancied a bar of chocolate which I rarely buy but I saw the Caramacs proudly displayed in front of the counter and thought I’d treat myself to a one for my way home. I unravelled the wrapper excitedly expecting a waft and taste of creamy caramel but instead got a tasteless piece of wax. It was so bad, I actually checked the wrapper to see if Nestle were still making it. It didn’t taste of anything except artificial flavouring with gritty bits in. What a disappointment, I threw the rest away. Why have Nestle changed the recipe?? Caramac used to be lovely. Nestle sort it out please and until you do, I won’t be buying another Caramac bar again.

Agree totally with everything said here,the first thing you remember when opening a bar was the unique smell followed by the great taste, no idea what they've done, but it's awful!! Not even worthy to be named chocolate, yukk, give your heads a wobble NESTLE, grainy & tasteless!.

Absolutely awful. If you remember how it used to taste then don’t buy - you will be disappointed.

I going to ask for my money back as this is not “Caramac”

Bought a caramac today for the first time in years .

What has happened to it .from memory it tasted like a sugary caramel and you could smell it soon as you opened the package .

Not any more !!

I opened the packet and instantly noticed there was no smell I broke a bit off and said to the wife to smell it and she asked why I'd bought a milkybar .

Oo the taste it's not nice like an off white chocolate.

With lumps of sugar inside .

Thought Id buy some Caramac, haven't had it for years. OMG what has happened to this once amazing caramel flavoured bar. It has lost its taste and has gritty sugary bits. Won't be buying this again.

Once upon a time there was a chocolate bar called Caramac, rich and creamy and popular. Unfortunately some wicked witch somewhere turned Caramac into a tasteless bar of crystals completely devoid of flavour. Good companies should listen to their customers, who aren't spinning a fairy tale. So many think the same. Come back, Caramac!

Wife Received some for Mother’s Day. Took me a while to persuade her to share…..Biggest let down ever, no taste other than sugar.

If it’s not broken why fix it. Fixed it for profit and losing every mature customer who tries it.
